Hawkstar watched Skyfrost go, feeling a little bit guilty about pressuring her to go back to camp. He knew what it was like to be trapped in camp due to an injury-- he'd had one when he was a warrior.
Suddenly, Hawkstar thought he heard something in the distance. He tried to smell its scent, but he was upwind of whatever it was.
The badger? he thought. But wouldn't it be noisier than this?
"I'll be right back," Hawkstar said to Rivermist. "I think I hear something."

"I didn't start the patrol in the first place, so I can't really call it mine." Rivermist replied to Skyfrost, flicking her ear. As Skyfrost left, she bit her lip. What's gotten into her? Never mind that, I'll ask her later. She thought to herself as she turned to Hawkstar. "Alright, be careful, Hawkstar. Dangerous things can be lurking over there."

Hawkstar nodded. "I will." He quietly walked towards the noise he had heard, disappearing into the bushes. Hawkstar paused for a moment, sniffing the air.
Nothing.
Suddenly, he heard the noise again. This time, a voice came with it-- but he couldn't understand what it was saying. He silently peered through his hiding spot in a bush. Hawkstar's eyes widened. It wasn't the badger that he'd heard.
Twolegs! Hawkstar thought. How could I have been so stupid? I shouldn't have come here. He raced away towards Rivermist.
"Twolegs," he said breathlessly when he reached his clanmate. "There are twolegs by the fallen pine tree. I'm not sure what they're doing there... but we can't let them find camp."

Rivermist's eyes widen. "W-what?! What would twolegs be doing here?" She mewed, her long fur slightly bristling. "What should we do?" She tried thinking of a solution to the problem, and frowned at her idea. "I have an idea, but it is very risky, and we might have to trepass onto other clan territories. That is, if they follow."

Skyfrost went back into camp, muttering under her breath. Heading back to the medicine cat den, she plonked herself down in her nest. Covering her eyes, she shut the working one, twisting her tail around her nose.

"Any idea is a good one," Hawkstar said. "What is it?" He thought for a moment and stared down at the orange leaves on the ground.
