ᴡʀɪᴛɪɴɢ ᴘʀᴏᴍᴘᴛ- ᴏɴᴇ ᴛʜᴏᴜsᴀɴᴅ ʀᴇᴀsᴏɴs I ʟᴏᴠᴇ Dᴏᴄᴛᴏʀ Wʜᴏ
Hey hey, it's Rivkah here. I find myself really bored even with the numerous roleplays I have, so I have decided this would be a great way to convert Whovians, give me something to do, and improve my literacy.
How does it work? Every day I post will be numbered and titled with the reason I love Doctor Who. I though about making it one hundred instead of one thousand, but I would finished one hundred in no time flat. This is more of a challenge.
This won't be just one little sentence. No no no, this will be real writing. This'll be at least a paragraph explaining my view point on a certain aspect of why I love my fandom.
I would appreciate to those reading that you please under no circumstances post. I repeat, PLEASE DO NOT POST. I hate to abuse caps, bold, and color but it seems people like to spam my writing threads and I want to make it clear that I do not want people posting until after I have reached one thousand reasons.
For those of you interested, read on! I should update this frequently. c:

Reason one - the storyline + script.
I frankly love the storyline of both the new and the old Doctor Who shows. Even the corny ones were really fascinating and really quite cute. If you start watching either the new or the old, you cannot skip a single episode, lest you get thrown entirely off track.
In the new ones, they all relate to each other. Every episode entwines into one big net of a plot. I frankly find it to be pulling me in, addicting me to it. I love complicated plots and as a science fiction nerd, I love paradoxes and lack of logic. Why else would I be such a Doctor Who junkie?
For instance, the Tenth Doctor really embraced the loneliness of the Doctor, without his entire race of Time Lords. Eleven did too, but in a darker way. Then there were Doctors like Four who were sillier than silly and people still took the show crazy-seriously. It's rather amazing in my opinion. And the entire concept of it - it's fantasy, but somehow they make it all so logical and believable while still being crazy and hard to understand. It reminds me of other believable plot lines such as Harry Potter and M.P. Haddix's time travel book series that are way off of reality but still so plausible. That's enough to get anyone hooked.
It's a lot of information, and for a new Whovian that can be torture, but it's been a year for me and I'm already completely caught up. It was tons of fun to jump around and squeal every time something clicked in and made sense with the other episodes. That's an experience that most shows really can't give you. I view Doctor Who as a giant puzzle for me to solve, and being an intellectual person I hate leaving that puzzle unfinished.

Reason two - David Tennant. Oh I don't even know where to start... I am so in love with David Tennant. I could go on forever. <3
David Tennant, for those who don't know, is the Tenth Doctor. And frankly I love him to death. He was witty, funny, and at the same time, serious, intense, and just... gah. Perfect. His emotions were really good as the Tenth Doctor because he could display every little emotion on his face, from intensity to fear to sadness, and you could just about feel those emotions yourself when you looked at him. Because I can't use my writing to describe them any further, let's have a look at some of his amazing faces:
Number one -

Number two -

Number three -

Sorry they're so big! Anyway, look at number one carefully please. Can you catch the look on his face before he talks directly into the phone? That look of glee just sends me fangirling. Everything he does sends me fangirling, though, so that's not saying much. Tennant does it so well, however, with the light in his eyes and the dopey grin on his face.
Alright, on to number two. This is from the Pompeii episode, if I'm not mistaken, and the snow is actually volcanic ash. He's rescuing a family. cx The grave look on his face and how straight it can look while holding his hand out and saying "come with me" is frankly astounding. See how his brow is furrowed? Tennant puts a lot of effort into his character, and not just for Doctor Who.
The third one is so priceless. It's from the earlier episodes of his before he spiked his hair up in that quirky fashion. The way his mouth drops at the same time he's rolling his eyes? It puts an expression half between "derpy" and just plain ridiculous, and it makes me giggle every time I so much as look at it. Go ahead, watch it for a while, you'll see.
I could keep going, but then this post would be a mile long. See ya!

Reason three - Catherine Tate. Okay, I just want to say this girl is amazing. This actress... Comedian, red head, Doctor Who companion...
And that's just the actress. I freaking love Donna Noble to death. She was the most wonderful companion. She could talk one hundred miles per hour, she was witty, and she didn't have the most girly relationship with the Doctor. They were just friends. And even before they were friends and they just met, it was the most hilarious relationship. There was no romance, and that's what I truly love. The Doctor didn't need romance after Rose. He needed a friend.
In love with these scenes:

She was so... not silly, but hilarious, and it was great that Catherine Tate was a comedian on top of it. For those of you who have seen this wonderful thing, you get an internet. But all in all, Donna both added to and lightened up some of the intensity of the show at the same time. She definitely made a lot of fans really into the Tenth Doctor as well, in my opinion. I haven't met anyone yet who doesn't at least like Donna a little bit. She was a really good friend for the Doctor, and she is hilarious on the show and in real life. I could go on and on about her, but I won't because that's boring. c:

Reason four - Rose Tyler.
I'm not sure how I feel about the actress Billie Piper, but I frankly love her character, Rose Tyler. She was with the Doctor since he was Nine, and they were the best of friends. They shared everything, even the awkward moments, and even before they loved each other they had this connection. The Tenth Doctor was way too overprotective of her, and vice versa. They had tons of laughs, intense moments, and silly things. It was cute.
Rose had a lot of personality, from being sweet to stubborn to downright intense and angry. I loved that about her, she was like the Doctor, she had a lot of emotions and she was more in depth than most teenagers or young adults like her. I thoroughly ship those two - but not her with the Eleventh Doctor, that wouldn't work out - and [spoiler alert] when he went through the meta-crisis and she got to spend the rest of her life with the version of him that had the life span of a human, I thought that was the perfect solution.
To me, that's got her wrapped up, and she doesn't need to come back for the 50th anniversary or at all. But, she was a great character and I am very loyal to her forever and ever. c:

reason five - the PondsAll of three of them are just soo...
eregesljfasdlfjslfkj
okay so let me explain
First of all I just straight off love how Amy and Rory's companionship tie into River and a bunch of other plot twists. The foreshadowing and suspense is excellent and the fact that this was all plotted out in advance? Pure genius. Now I don't usually give Steven Moffat much credit, but this dude is a genius, even if he did kill off the Ponds afterwards in a depressing way.
Um yeah. If you aren't up-to-date with the series, there are spoilers in this writing prompt, sorry c;
The entire thing of
River Song
and
Melody Pond
is pure genius.
And I have to say, honestly, I was honest-to-goodness grateful that Moffat didn't turn this into another "female companion fascinated with the Doctor" and I have to say I fully ship Amy and Rory because without them and their awesomeness the Doctor wouldn't have best friends or his fantastic wife River <3
I totally ship those two, they're so cute, a perfect match. The Doctor's childishness and her recklessness. cx
And I would just like to end by saying that they are one of the main reasons that I became so attached to the Eleventh Doctor. I still adore the Tenth's personality but Eleventh's first companions, the Ponds, were definitely the best of him so far.
Enjoy the gifs

reason six - k-9
this dog is awesome
I mean COME ON a tin dog that follows the Doctor around? Best companion ever. And he's so hilarious.
"Bad dog." "Affirmative." And he was so loyal to the Doctor and Sarah Jane. I mean, he's so awesome he has a Chameleon Circuit song. A sad one, but still. If I had a tin dog, I would adore it forever. Best pet ever. cx
'Nuff said.
But seriously, Tennant adored that thing and so did Baker, their Doctors worked so well with k-9. I would be so fangirling though, if he met the Eleventh Doctor, Matt Smith. Wouldn't that be timey-wimey? But somehow I don't think he'd work well with Sarah Jane. Anyhow, that's for the next post...
Toodaloo.
See you guys around if any of you actually are following along with this thing xD Stay awesome Whovians~

reason seven - Sarah Jane Smith
The reason I didn't add this to the above post regarding k-9 was because they are two very different reasons why I adore Doctor Who, so I obviously can't merge them together haha cx
She was just... So adorable
And what a face she had when she was with Tom Baker. I just want to hug her and pet her innocent little head. She aged well, too.
And I loved how she couldn't stop thinking of the Doctor after he left her on Earth but still managed to move on and have Luke and keep k-9 and oh you get the point.
She was strong, witty, brilliant, and she went nicely with both the Fourth and Tenth Doctors. I don't think she'd be much of a good companion for Eleventh, at least not for his hyper childish side, despite Tom Baker. But a meeting isn't too bad.
I also have to say I was wicked depressed when Elizabeth Sladen died and then it was like I was crying every time I watched an episode with her in it because she was no longer alive. She was an awesome companion and an awesome person. She was the one my mother grew up watching, my mom is addicted to Baker. I think it's rather cute, actually. Sarah Jane is a perfect companion.
Now take a good look at the top picture to the right
and try not to laugh
because I epically failed and couldn't stop
giggling like a madwoman
without a blue box
See ya dolls

reason eight - idris
So I was asking myself "Alright, I've finished the companions I like, right? Can I move onto the Doctors I like?"
and then it hit me
NOPE YOU GOTTA DO IDRISSSSSSSS
for those of you who don't know who Idris is:
Idris is the young lady on the asteroid called House that was possessed by the TARDIS when the House invaded her. No longer Idris, she instead had the mind and soul of the TARDIS and could now have conversations with the Doctor - but she was so radical even he didn't understand her at first. The episode is The Doctor's Wife for those who do not know.
Now, on to why I love her so much.
First of all, she's the TARDIS. That's reason enough in itself. c:
Second, I love how she really brought about some feeling with the Doctor. Not romantically, but it really got him thinking about his whole traveling inside the TARDIS and how he supposedly stole her when she also stole him.
Third, it really helps them establish more of a bond ; it explains their relationship, it lets them actually voice their thoughts for one another, since a TARDIS is almost a Time Lord in herself.
And yes I say that
a- because she said All Her Sisters
b- because most transportation and machinery is referred to as 'she'
Normally I don't go on and on but I will this time
because I have a lot of gifs left
and because she is very special
Idris makes me laugh and smile
and cry inside a bit
it's just that she's so... magical. I know it sounds really silly but that's how she makes me feel. She's so uplifting. That and I fully ship her and the Doctor... not really as a romance thing though I do think of that way; it's like they're best friends, flirting and teasing and laughing at one another when they each do something foolish. Best friends. It's quite amazing to watch them tease each other.

anyway you get the point
I honestly love the death out of Idris
even though she only appeared in one episode
hope you guys like the gifs

reason nine - captain jack harknessAh no don't look at me like that I have to get done with all my favorite characters and who portrayed the doctors
and then the villains
and then the writers
and so on
why do you think it's 'one thousand reasons' silly?
okay so anyway
reason nine
** captain jack, the american token! **
eee so many reasons why I love him. First of all, it's adorable how he flirts with anything and everything. It's fantastic how he becomes immortal and turns into the Face of Boe. He's a great addition as an actor and as a character and he definitely spiked up the show. He's a fantastic addition and I love his sarcasm, flirting, and adorable attitude. If I ever got to meet John Barrowman I would kiss him, no joke. and then David Tennant. o3o
He's just so witty and adorable eeee that's it
and ooo that grin there's no really other way to describe it
