Good-bye, Chicken Smoothie.
I loved you as you were... Without forcing plastic surgery on the poor animals. It is sad to have to part with my beloved horses, but I would much rather leave CS with the memory of Equimagine's lovely, cartoony, beautiful, and unique horses than stay and watch them be ruined.
It hurts to love a dying species. It hurts when the game I love most and have been loyal to is killing its creations. A parent should not force their children to change. A parent should not force plastic surgery on their child.
Way to be melodramatic.
How is it "disgusting" to value our artistic integrity and ensure that we actually get to keep something of the horses (the design) rather than, on the off chance that a DMCA report is filed, lose them completely?
Your very own point proves how unfair the poll was, as that means it was already decided that Equimagine horses MUST change even before the poll was started.
The poll was more likely a 'how' to the change not a 'should it change or not'. I suspect that had the vote been the opposite, there would have been different options presented and that Tess and the staff would have come up with a different way to going about the change.

It is quite obvious that when you posted the poll last weekend, you knew that the art in question was against the current rules of Chicken Smoothie, and possibly against copywrite and/or distribution laws. Obviously, it was your intention for the beginning to replace the equimagine lines. Accordingly, the results of your poll were never relevant. You exposed us to a frustrating and upsetting diplomatic process for absolutely no reason. I spent days and days creating signature banners, joining debates, and and responding to other voters stating my opinions (as did all of the voters, on both sides of the argument) all for not. I've found this process, as a whole, very unfair and upsetting.
yup..I was pretty passionate about the issue when I 1st saw it but it was becoming more and more clear with the mod posts that it was a done deal before the poll.
My guess is that Tess was hoping it would go down more positively if the "vote" also agreed with the change...but only she can directly address that for sure. It is a great quality to be proactive & fight for your beliefs no matter what so don't lose site of that =)
Ah this so much.
It was pretty clear to me after reading the front post a few times, along with the mods posts, what was going to happen/happening.
Which, given the reasons, I totally see why.
It just caused so much tension, and really brought out the worst in a lot of people.
@everyone
The change is done. It's going through. Users can act however they want about it (providing it doesn't break CS rules) and being rude/harassing them isn't helping anyone.

I'm really excited about this! I'm proud of CS for doing it because of the tracing issue, and just in my personal opinion I love Yul's lines more and can't wait to see some of my favorite designs on them. =3
Also thanks to the staff for coming up with this way to deal with the issue when they didn't really have too, they could have just deleted the old works and have been done with it but they decided to take out a lot of time and redo it all. So thank you, guys!

CS has to change the linearts, because they were traced. If the person who made the photos equimagine traced were to find out, Chicken Smoothie would be in danger of being shut down. I liked the old linearts better, but I then realized that the change is for the better of CS. Don't be too upset about it. The horses don't have feelings, they're just pixels. And they're only changing the lines, not the designs (;

To add to Lights, it would be unfair to allow an artist to get away with art theft, and then punish a regular user for having done the same. Things have to be kept fair. Don't worry about the horses - just think of them going to the salon and having a new hairstyle, if you will. They will still be the same pets underneath.

This is sad in my opinion
Although the lineart was copyrighted, I really found it fascinating to see the old lineart
Having them replaced does make me frustrated, considering I was a member for four years now
Seeing the old linearts was something I was used to for a long time and it does show our history
Though I'm excited for the new Zebra and Draft linearts, I must say I'll be sad to see the old ones go
Yet I wish there was a different way to approach this process
Especially for those who did not want to go with the project
It's painfully obvious that there was going to be a change anyway, so I feel the voting was extremely pointless

That's not the point. The people voted and this was decided. It's not unfair or so, just more people thought it would be a better idea.
I don't think plastic surgeries are the same as the lineart change. The lines are being changed because the were being traced, and the items don't fit on so many lines. Everyone accepts this in their own way, but i don't think this is actually the real point. c:

This is the most comically overdramatic reaction to this I have ever seen.
If you are honestly that upset about
maintaining the artistic integrity of a site, then I do believe CS is better off without you. It's not about 'forcing plastic surgery on the poor animals', it's about fixing a mistake that was made.
And if the site that I have loved for many years is now filled with people like you telling others that the site is better off without me, I will gladly leave knowing that I was wrong to love this site.
Hoarding all Bunnies!

I think that it was wonderfully thoughtful of Tess and the rest of the staff to even let us have a say in what we thought before the decision was made to change the old horses' linearts to the new ones. They could have just changed them without asking. But they care enough about what we think and our opinions that they put up a poll for us. I think that the old horses and ponies will look great after the new lines are implemented!
And in the end, they would have changed anyways, because of the copyright issue.
