they're not really twinsies tbh. they have similar designs but there are definitely notable differences. similar but different. i don't foresee any problems really, personally.

To be truthful I changed my vote from maybe to yes-not because of the fighting, mostly because I was confused between most/many line arts (got confused with Tyr's for Yuhlyn's) And i figured it would be best for the future incase of issuses.

Seriously though, I am so glad to see that this is happening.

I do think that it would have been an easier decision if we had been more up-front about the tracing issues beforehand. However, I can completely understand why Tess and other mods were hesitant about being so forward about it, both out of friendship to Equimagine and out of not wanting to start a witch hunt.

I am also sincerely glad that my comparisons and advocating for a switch apparently helped the process.

And while I understand why some people are upset, I have to do a little laughing here. Guys, we told y'all that the artistic integrity issues were real. Guess what? They are. Sorry for being truthful and making you face the facts, lol! I did my best to be polite and break the issue gently but found myself continually rebuffed and called a 'bully' because of this. How very interesting that all these accusations about being overly harsh, forceful, or pushy about the issue are not being flung at Tess. Maybe I'm just easier to pick on.

I hope the 2009 Shetland pony linearts get the shetland pony themed new lines NOT the excat same lines with ALL the ponys.. that will be huge disapoint to me.. if they do change to same.. i collected only because of that..

not very pleased that they will change excat smae pose than the current line art i do not like it at all.. to be honest, it look yes more horse but its just blain and boring.. i hope the older horses would keeped same style pose but only maked their own new lineart to them.. but that would then taked more time..

Well... I'm a bit upset. Okay, yes, artistic integrity issues are serious. (DUH!) I'm just going to miss the same playfulness of the equimagine horses... (No offense, but Yulynh is okay, although still not my favorite.) It's just that some of the people are kind of being rude. YES, I KNOW, WE'RE SWITCHING, JUST BECAUSE ONE DID NOT SUPPORT THE SWITCH IT DOES NOT MEAN ONE GETS TO RUB IT INTO ANOTHER PERSON'S FACE.

I'm going to miss the old lines. I think that the old lines are what gives them their charm. Also, I'm much more nervous about the Shima Luan foxes, they're my favorite pets... I know that this change has to happen, but it upsets me a little.

I'm really pleased to hear that the RBM, PPS pets, and the roadkill pony will be getting special linearts. Those are the ones I was most concerned about. ^^;

I still don't see why every single unicorn, donkey, and Equine horse needs to be changed. I highly doubt that all of them were traced. xP
And why do the Fennec Foxes need to be changed now too? -_- Is everything going to be changed because it was 'traced' or 'copied'. It's just kinda annoying to me. It really doesn't matter what I say though, because the majority vote always wins. xP
Anyway, I don't like how the new horses and ponies look at all, so I'm not happy. xP And I feel bad for the people who collected the horses because they liked how they looked, and are now just getting their pets changed. It's like if you collected a bunch of dolls you thought were cute, and then one day, they were just changed so that you didn't like what they looked like.

In my opinion, out of all of the people who were constantly reiterating the tracing issue (specifically, not just the general 'yes' voters), you were one of the most polite by far, if that makes you feel any better :3 (I actually almost wanted to vote "no" just to spite all of the rude "this is art theft let's burn it with fire" people xD but after seeing your posts, I decided to not vote "no" because there's no way I can spite a polite person without feeling guilty XD)

Since many of the older images have been copied from photos, we can't really maintain an official collection of them on the site. You're more than welcome to save the old images to your computer, or make you own archive website to show other CS users how they used to look. However - note that your own archive website could also be at risk of removal for copyright infringement if the photographers (whose images were copied) decided to report it.

Just to confirm, does this mean we cannot make a thread on CS with the old linearts (sorta like the unofficial transparent archive)?

Tracing was a large part of the reason for the change, but another large part of the reason was that we had too many equine linearts period, and Tess wanted the equines to look as uniform as possible ^^ besides of that, it's better to be safe than sorry; if someone comes along and files a DMCA report, we've got 24 hours or so to remove/replace the image. That's what happened on another site I went on--there was a DMCA report filed and they had 24 hours to replace the image. And it wasn't even filed immediately; it took about a year for the person to find that website and file the report.
