"Yara. Can I speak with you when you have the chance?" Chako asked, trying not to interrupt. She had a nervous look on her face, which caught Rai. What could be so important?

Yara nodded. "But not now. I hope you understand..." He looked down at Ink then back at her. Ink was like a son to him, he wasn't going to lose him again. "Come on Ink. We need you. I need you. Please."

Chako nodded and stepped back. Rai walked forward and gently nudged Ink to his feet, "Come on, Ink. We'd better get you to a place to rest." he gently lied the pup down in Rai's bed, letting the pup go to bed.

Ink JR curled up in Rai's bed, but suddenly panicked when he realized he hadn't heard a thing Chako said to him after Hakuri managed to get him to breathe again...What could he do? He couldn't talk, and now it looked like he had gone deaf! He looked up at Chako, waanting to explain that he couldn't hear her- But he couldn't talk to her. The black and white pup tried to think of a way he could say it to her...He pointed to his ear with a paw and shook his head, trying to tell her that he was deaf. And then he pointed to his mouth and shook his head. It was hard trying to get it across to her...

Ink tilted his head, not able to answer Chako because he couldn't hear her or say anything back.

Chako licked Ink on the head and whispered, "I'll take care of you, don't worry." Now, she just had to tell Yara. Where was he anyway? She looked around, puzzled.

Ink shivered and curled up in a little black ball, feeling so helpless...If he was deaf, then how would he know if an enemy was coming, and because he couldn't talk, he couldn't call for help or warn anyone...
