3) I just dont think it is fair to say she traced it.. if you look up horse drawings and then a horse picture most of them will match almost perfectly....

It's true that there's only so many poses that a horse can make, but no, a drawing will not match up perfectly to a photo if it wasn't traced off of it.

Here is what i think we should do. We should ask Equine to redraw her horses, that way they get changed a little bit but its still from the same artist and not get changed completely and have her patterns taken and put on someone eles horse and she not get any of the credit.... thats what i think would work a little better...

I think, the problem with that is, that many people wouldn't trust her. I think she'd originally tried to re-create some of her lineart, but she still wasn't received well because many couldn't trust that she hadn't traced linearts again. Also - and please correct me if I'm wrong, because I could have the facts mixed up! - I believe she made the decision to leave CS permanently.

Either way... I don't think she'd come back and make another redraw attempt.

On a completely unrelated note: In addition to the prospect of new draft horses, I'm really excited about a potential redraw of the unicorn lines! I bet they'll be awesome!

They do need to be changed, as much as I hate to admit it. What about lawsuits? You can't prove she's guilty, and you can't prove she's not, so that would not keep trouble away later, right? And then there is the fact that they are how many horse lines on the site right now? It may raise demand for all those other pets sitting in the back of your trading center. Just think about much better it will be for everyone if this goes through. I'll miss them, and so will plenty of you, but is it worth all the trouble that it could cause in the future? I think not.

Yep, people mistrusted equimagine to the extent that they started to scrutinize her 2010 staff pps, pointing out uncolored pixels and the tail that in their opinions looked rather awkward; another artist had to step in and say that some of the popular store pets she [the artist that stepped in] created also had missing pixels and an awkward tail, but did people care? noooooo

... my point: people did mistrust equimagine. xD

Ahh, the last part makes sense. Thanks :3 (admittedly, I'm now confused on *why* they'd think nothing could be done [unless they didn't know where the originals came from] since, again, the tumblr community as a whole seems to be the sort to take action, but oh well~)

I find it really really really odd that the links to the original pictures conveniently popped up right when this thread started o.O Logically speaking, if someone posted the links to the original pictures, then it would spread like wildfire, which means that those who previously didn't know where the originals came from *should* quickly get word of where the photos came from.

Well, mods deleted posts talking about it. We weren't allowed to talk about it on site. I can only imagine that influence is to blame. When a person in power says you can't do something, people tend to assume they can't. It made people feel quite powerless over the issue I imagine.
I can only assume that, with this thread and the argument it has brought, anyone that knew who the copyright holder's were decided to speak up and become involved, and now everyone does because we're no longer disjointed.

Well, see, the thing with the law is that it's horribly corrupt everywhere. The screenshots being thrown around are likely enough to convince a judge that Equi is guilty of art theft.
Not saying that'll happen, or it will ever be taken to court or anything, but it's a possibility.

this his been discussed, if the site was gonna get sued tess wouldn't give us the option t vote on the change. she'd just change it
