I think, the problem with that is, that many people wouldn't trust her. I think she'd originally tried to re-create some of her lineart, but she still wasn't received well because many couldn't trust that she hadn't traced linearts again. Also - and please correct me if I'm wrong, because I could have the facts mixed up! - I believe she made the decision to leave CS permanently.

Either way... I don't think she'd come back and make another redraw attempt.

On a completely unrelated note: In addition to the prospect of new draft horses, I'm really excited about a potential redraw of the unicorn lines! I bet they'll be awesome!

I'm slightly torn...though I do think it'll be a yes from me. I will miss the chubby equimagine ponies and PPS's though. c: But as a whole, I think the change is better. It'll definitely make it easier to dress them and such (which I have been dying to do with the older models and newer items). It will also be nice to have a uniform design, as Tess suggested. I think I had another reason...but I don't remember. ^^; But yes, I think you should change them. c:

Edit: I agree with the above people. While it may be more work, I would love some of the PPS foals to stay in their bucking or different positions. <3

Maybe you could set up something like a private email that people can send their opinions to so that Tess and any other decision makers can read them. (and if that person is misinformed their suggestion/opinion can simply be disregarded instead of the person being harassed)
I'm kinda appalled at how hostile this thread has gotten, it didn't seem this bad before...

uhhhhh...
eqi is retired.
she traced /some/ lines, at the very least.
she gave her lines to tess to do what tess wanted with.
and the staff are making it easier on themselves by just transferring the designs to new linearts, if you've read the first post.

1) I have read the first post
2) It was just a possible idea (not like most of you havent been throwing some out....)
3) I just dont think it is fair to say she traced it.. if you look up horse drawings and then a horse picture most of them will match almost perfectly....
I am finally back after a few month break from CS. In glad to be back and cant wait to rp with tons of people!

<3 The PPS foals would probably be included with the poll for the PPS ponies that Tess might do since they also seem to be a point of concern. It is possible they may get their own special lines or something, we will just have to wait and see :)

Equi retired from the staff.
Besides, she's redone her lines once before and instead of fixing the tracing issue, she simply taced over her old lines and made minor changes. She's already been given her chance. If the lines are redone, I doubt CS would turn to her to fix issues that she failed to fix the first time.

Agreed, they did give her a second chance.

Yep, people mistrusted equimagine to the extent that they started to scrutinize her 2010 staff pps, pointing out uncolored pixels and the tail that in their opinions looked rather awkward; another artist had to step in and say that some of the popular store pets she [the artist that stepped in] created also had missing pixels and an awkward tail, but did people care? noooooo

... my point: people did mistrust equimagine. xD
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

She admitted to tracing herself.

I think a lot of people need to calm down.

Equi admitted long ago that she traced the horse lines. Overlays in the thread or not, the art theft is a given. It's there. But it's been resolved with Equimagine long ago. The fact that the horse lines now might be changed means that CS does want to fix some leftover issues, but also wants to keep in touch with the community.

The reason this was being kept away was most likely because no one wanted to initiate a hunt on Equimagine or anyone else for that matter. It was resolved behind closed doors so there wouldn't be any drama. I never quite fancied the lines being kept on CS, but that's not my call to make, and I certainly don't know what went on exactly. But this thread is proof enough that if it was made public long ago, there would be tons of harasment. People would rile eachother up to the point of striking down anyone with a different opinion, much like what is happening now.

Plus, please try to understand that some users may just be too young to understand the importance of artistic integrity, which a lot of us hold dear. They just like the horses for the single reason of liking the horses.

I'm all in favour for the change, I'd love to see all art theft issues solved for good and the lines made easier for artists to work on. And I'd love to see CS set an example for the strict art theft policies it tried to live by.

But please, keep it civil. There's no need to rip eachother new ones for the sake of an argument, and it surely won't help yelling at users who voted no. It's okay to try and bring out the truth, but let people figure out their vote by themselves rather than shoving anything into their face.
