No one is trying to. However, posting incorrect photographs and claiming they are definitely proof of tracing on those lines is incorrect and borderline dishonest, as it's attempting to pressure people into changing their votes. If you want to vote 'yes' to the change because of the copied foal lines and suspicions about the adult lines, that's fine, but deceiving people into thinking all the lines are known to be definitely traced is not.

I don't want to speak for Atwood but I would like to point out that Atwood made this statement and is FOR the change.. at least I think I remember that.

Could have easily pushed the art theft issue just to influence voters to yes.. but instead attempted to get just facts out and let others decide. I, for one, appreciate that..

Here is what i think we should do. We should ask Equine to redraw her horses, that way they get changed a little bit but its still from the same artist and not get changed completely and have her patterns taken and put on someone eles horse and she not get any of the credit.... thats what i think would work a little better...

Besides, she's redone her lines once before and instead of fixing the tracing issue, she simply taced over her old lines and made minor changes. She's already been given her chance. If the lines are redone, I doubt CS would turn to her to fix issues that she failed to fix the first time.

It would make much more sense to just use the perfectly fine horse lineart we already have. The main reason for this idea was that the horses could be more uniform. Switching the equi horses to yet another horse lineart entirely defeats this point.

That's a PPS HORSE. I do think there should be new PPS horse lines like this one, a bucking foal. Those are very unique PPS pets, and I think they are cute bucking. ^^"

I think that the statement from Tess would include the PPS horses too if people were concerned about it lol

I would hope so. And I would hope it includes both the PPS pony lines. These ones are just as cute as the dice and buckskin.

Going to being up this question again, since it seems like some of the CS tumblr people are in the thread at the moment:

Why is there only a chance of a DMCA report now and not all those years ago? Clearly, the CS people on tumblr have known about this for years. Why did people only contact the photographers during the past few days?

I mean, from what I've seen, the tumblr community as a whole (CS tumblr-ers being no exception) is pretty outspoken and not the sort to just sit back and watch something get worse. They're the sort to *take action*.

So logically, one of these three things happened:
1) The original photographers were contacted, and nothing happened.
2) The wrong photographers were contacted by mistake xD
2a) still wouldn't explain why the original photographers wouldn't have been contacted afterwards, though.
3) No contact was attempted

I for one, have only been only since February. in that time I knew Equimagine's lines were traced but not from what images. Most people on tumblr (and I suspect skinless chicken) have seen the evidence and are aware of most of the tracing that goes on in official art but simply were not aware of who the copyright holders were, or were under the impression nothing could be done about it.

Ahh, the last part makes sense. Thanks :3 (admittedly, I'm now confused on *why* they'd think nothing could be done [unless they didn't know where the originals came from] since, again, the tumblr community as a whole seems to be the sort to take action, but oh well~)

But now I'm confused on the people not being aware of who the copyright holders are xD
I find it really really really odd that the links to the original pictures conveniently popped up right when this thread started o.O Logically speaking, if someone posted the links to the original pictures, then it would spread like wildfire, which means that those who previously didn't know where the originals came from *should* quickly get word of where the photos came from.

I'll just accept the last part you posted as a valid reason though xD;

If she was capable of freehanding some of the linearts, why would she trace the others? Using this simple logic it's easy to see that there's little chance of those linearts being legitimate.

And while you're saying it's wrong to convince people using the overlays you personally aren't convinced by, I personally think it's wrong to constantly defend her obvious theft. You're a moderator. You're supposed to be against art theft and things that break cs's rules.

I question the morality of a site that 'hires' mod(s) who turn a blind eye to obvious theft, and go so far as to convince others that the images aren't stolen.

I've never said there wasn't tracing/referencing/freehanding/what-have-you of any of the lines, only that those particular photos are almost certainly not correct and were very likely not traced. If people are using that as their basis for deciding (as opposed to the foal lines), they are being misinformed. Part of being a mod is also making decisions on whether something was copied or not. If any member was accused of art theft based on those adult overlays, I would not accept that as reasonable evidence because there are many other photos equally similar.

As a mod, I'm sure you've dealt with more art theft than any of us. So I don't understand how you don't see just how clear it is- after dealing with art thieves (probably) daily, I'd assume you know most of the tricks they use to hide it, which include most of the things you(and other mods) have reasoned are causes for those photos not to be the original sources(like how in one of the linearts, it matched the photo exactly, but you had to rotate each part around to show that).

Also, the 'there are tons of photos that look like that one' or 'there are tons of photos of horses in that pose' has been brought up time and time again, but as I've said- just because there is a lot of something doesn't mean it's theft-proof. /: Even the most unoriginal of things can be stolen.

So in a case like this, is all of the definite proof we currently have really not enough to assume the other pictures are 100% theft until proven otherwise..?
