I see some questions, answers, and arguments being repeated over and over and over in this topic. If there is anything that you're unsure of, please just read through the topic first to see if what you're looking for has already been covered.

We have noticed that it seems like the main concerns so far are about a few favorite pets like the PPS ponies and the rainbow mane changing. If the opinion remains divided then we may re-vote with new conditions such as keeping the PPS ponies and have special line edits for things like the rainbow mane horse so that it still looks good on the new lines.

I very, very much love this idea.

umm okay but heres the thing if foal is drawn in certain position a picture is taken and the personw ho draws foal doesn't use a referance and it coincidently matches up with the foal photo does that mean it is stolen no, does thay mean it is traced no. but it does mean it is coincidence. also does that foal position being drawn mean that it's off limits to draw in that position no because it's not just because a foal is in certain position that doesn't mean no one can draw a horse or pony or foal in that position ever again. positions can not be copyrighted there i said my peace.

i don't think there really is another way to get around it besides changing the lines :s

Going to being up this question again, since it seems like some of the CS tumblr people are in the thread at the moment:

Why is there only a chance of a DMCA report now and not all those years ago? Clearly, the CS people on tumblr have known about this for years. Why did people only contact the photographers during the past few days?

I mean, from what I've seen, the tumblr community as a whole (CS tumblr-ers being no exception) is pretty outspoken and not the sort to just sit back and watch something get worse. They're the sort to *take action*.

So logically, one of these three things happened:
1) The original photographers were contacted, and nothing happened.
2) The wrong photographers were contacted by mistake xD
2a) still wouldn't explain why the original photographers wouldn't have been contacted afterwards, though.
3) No contact was attempted

People keep on bringing up info. about whether or not the lines have been traced or not and have been using that as their reason. BUt before this was posted may I ask how many of you have complained about this?

^ The pony and horse used as the 'traced' photographs in that are almost certainly wrong, by the way. If there were photographs traced for those lines, those photographs are not them. It's blatantly obvious with the pony, which doesn't match up on even a single line with the 'traced' lineart. >.> I've seen several other photographs claimed as the 'traced' ones for those same lines, some of which were even a better match (if you cut the legs off, rotate and resize various bits, etc.). The one image that has the lineart actually lined up with the photo had the horse lineart edited to make it fit and then faded out almost to oblivion to hide all the spots where it still didn't match up.

But she still traced a whole lot of stuff, no one can deny that. Disproving SOME evidence doesn't disprove all of it. Especially the foals.

No one is trying to. However, posting incorrect photographs and claiming they are definitely proof of tracing on those lines is incorrect and borderline dishonest, as it's attempting to pressure people into changing their votes. If you want to vote 'yes' to the change because of the copied foal lines and suspicions about the adult lines, that's fine, but deceiving people into thinking all the lines are known to be definitely traced is not.

Atwood, I'll say again what I said to you earlier.
If she was capable of freehanding some of the linearts, why would she trace the others? Using this simple logic it's easy to see that there's little chance of those linearts being legitimate.

And while you're saying it's wrong to convince people using the overlays you personally aren't convinced by, I personally think it's wrong to constantly defend her obvious theft. You're a moderator. You're supposed to be against art theft and things that break cs's rules.

I question the morality of a site that 'hires' mod(s) who turn a blind eye to obvious theft, and go so far as to convince others that the images aren't stolen.

Probably the lines would have to be changed anyway with all the issues with this art theft thing even if they don't change to Yulynh's lines... but fear not about your PPS. There is a fairly good possibility that Tess will do a seperate poll concerning them cause a lot of people were concerned about their favourite PPS horses and ponies ^^
