If CS was in danger of being sued/shut down for 'art theft', then I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have a say in it. All in all, I think it is just about lots of angry people bringing up old problems.
I like the old lines, traced or not.
I'm sure lots of people agree with me, too.

The thing is though, is that Tess never wanted us to talk about the dubious nature of the art theft. It was never allowed to be spoken about on-site before, I'm sure she didn't intend for it to come up on this thread, either. And had it not, then it wouldn't have erupted into the issue it was now and the copyright holders would not have been contacted. But now they have, so the possibility of a DMCA report is very, very high.

Guys they aren't supporting art theft now please stop it with the art theft thing it's just getting tiresome if you have already voted listen to the rules and be off with yourselves. god you would think people would have more respect but nope they all seem to disrespect one another simply because you do not want the lineart to change or you do want the lineart to change.

Yeah, it wasn't brought up because we weren't allowed to bring it up. Not because it wasn't an issue.

^ The pony and horse used as the 'traced' photographs in that are almost certainly wrong, by the way. If there were photographs traced for those lines, those photographs are not them. It's blatantly obvious with the pony, which doesn't match up on even a single line with the 'traced' lineart. >.> I've seen several other photographs claimed as the 'traced' ones for those same lines, some of which were even a better match (if you cut the legs off, rotate and resize various bits, etc.). The one image that has the lineart actually lined up with the photo had the horse lineart edited to make it fit and then faded out almost to oblivion to hide all the spots where it still didn't match up.

But she still traced a whole lot of stuff, no one can deny that. Disproving SOME evidence doesn't disprove all of it. Especially the foals.

Exactly. The copyright issue on the photos put our pony population at risk so we need this change.

The art is stolen and that is what's wrong with it. Stolen, stolen, stolen. At least some of the foals and perhaps the horses, though those are less likely.

No one is trying to. However, posting incorrect photographs and claiming they are definitely proof of tracing on those lines is incorrect and borderline dishonest, as it's attempting to pressure people into changing their votes. If you want to vote 'yes' to the change because of the copied foal lines and suspicions about the adult lines, that's fine, but deceiving people into thinking all the lines are known to be definitely traced is not.

I just have to ask.. I find it hard to believe Tess didn't think it would come up. It seems like it was a big deal to a lot of people.

If she never wanted us to talk about it and didn't think it would come up... then why is she allowing 450 pages of agruements about it??

She has more patience than I. I would have closed it down by now.
