I think the switch is a great idea!

But doesn't CS have over 300,000 members? If less than 3,000 have voted, I think there should be something about this discussion on the homepage so that everybody can know about it and more people vote.

@Fuzzeh -- great idea. If we can have a link explaining PPS, why can`t we have another one that links to the thread where the final EPT desicion was/is made.

yulynh's lines already look like they are moving so i do not understand why you are saying to change her lines that was not an option.

A lot of people (Including myself, somewhat) find that Yul`s horses seem to be in a moving pose, as aposed to Equi`s lines which seem to be actually moving.

Fuzzeh wrote:I also don't think they should have equi's signature on them. However, what about putting something like, well, ETP on them, and linking that to a thread with an explanation of them having once been on old line-arts, but it having been updated to a new one, without mention of the theft to avoid causing more drama, but with pictures/links to pictures of all of the old line-arts? Sort of like what's done with the PPS pets?

Bump for this. I like this suggestion.

I think I'm going to vote no though and here's why.

Should the lineart be updated? Absolutely! Get that art theft out of here so there's no more questions about the integrity of the site!
Should we update the horses & ponies from 2009-2010 so they match the current lines?
No. Equi's horses are more dainty, like arabians. Most of equi's designs would look very strange on Yul's design.
As awesome as the updated ponies look, I don't like the new draft over the old one overall so that's 2/3 'don't like' for me.
Something about the eyes in an equi horse gives it more personality but I love the realistic lines that Yul's has.

Either way, I would much prefer equi's horses to have different lines than the current. It would mean more work for the item artists, but it would cut down equi's lines to one per horse/pony/draft instead of two each.

The thing is, by voting no, you're making it more likely the lines won't be changed at all.
If I were in your shoes-wanting the old lines gone, but moved onto a new lineart-I'd greatly prefer the old lines being gone with no new lineart, versus no change at all. Because at least then, one of your desires is being fulfilled.

There needs to be either an option added so we can vote to be rid of equi's line-art but not go to the regular one, or a promise from Tess of a poll to decide which line-art we switch to later... If either of those happen, I will change my vote.

Switching things to Unsure, as I suggested, would just be a temporary measure to catch Tess' opinion - and hopefully get her to add the third option of "change them to unique new lines". c:

All righty, just wanted to post something (still catching up)

I'm not sure if these were deliberate or if these were unintentional, but I just wanted to say that implied tones matter a lot. Not implied content--implied tones.

Yes, they differ from person to person. However, there are only so many ways that a toe can be interpreted, and when one of those ways is "omg your opinion is different from mine therefore you are a bad person go die in a hole" then clearly, none of the other possible tones that can be interpreted from that post will be any good. In fact, it's *almost* a sure sign of the fact that too many people will view that post as inflammatory, even if it wasn't intended to be.

I've seen far too many posts that have tones that are perfectly capable of being interpreted as "you are a bad person now go to that scary underworld place with fire". I'm sure not all of them were intended to have that tone (they were probably more along the lines of "explain your opinion"), but I've been stretching the posts inside-out (they're screaming with pain at the moment) and I can't figure out what kind of friendly/non-aggressive/positive/neutral tone can be interpreted from them. (Yes, I did just say "neutral". I can't even figure out how to interpret some of those posts' tones as blunt, for Totoro's sake!)

On the plus side, I've seen a few posts whose tones are nearly incapable of being perceived as negative (those posts are screaming in pain, too, since I've been stretching them inside-out as well). Not nearly as many as the seemingly-inflammatory posts, but still a few. That gives me hope that perhaps we can at least attempt to view everyone's posts in the best light possible.

(Speaking of which, all of the posts that I've been twisting inside-out are screaming not only from that pain, but also fromthe pain of being subjected to the brightest light I could find [read: the best light].)
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

You do have a good point. Hundreds of people having no idea what's going on certainly should make her notice something is up. XD

The reason why staff is deleting posts to my knowledge is primarily because of the large amount of people who are spamming the topic with arguments and ideas that have already been brought up 50 times in the last 400 pages =P Image tracing has been brought up so many times it's not even funny and it's an issue that's very widely accepted by most CS users thus posting about them doesn't add to the discussion in any way :3
