Isn't this what a forum is for? To discuss a topic?

That's saying we might as well be posting nothing but "i love the linearts NO " or "yes can't say why because traced lines is a forbidden subject"

Why have a discussion topic if we can't discuss anything, just state our opinions and leave? ... isn't that what a poll is for?

So far all I see is members 'discussing' (and I use this loosely) how each other voted and why their votes are wrong or unjust - NOT about the artwork at all....that should be what is discussed.

This is about the ARTWORK....not about each other and what you all vote. Who made it all about you? Yes, Tess asked you all to vote, but she didn't say, nag at one another why you shouldn't vote no, or why you should vote yes....ok discuss.

actually equi lost the rights to her designs when she gave drew her designs and gave them to cs she has visably no right to them at all. they where copyrighted to cs as designs and designs that she knowingly gave to cs knowing she was giving up the right to even use them personally.

I have a temporary solution that I think will make tempers less likely to flare.

It seems that some people are voting "no" because they don't want the old designs updated to the exact current lines. (I get that now. Thank y'all for helping me to understand. c: )

However, as it stands, a 'no' vote means that you still want the ethically dubious linearts in use.

This is a temporary measure, but -

How about if you want the lineart to change, but to a different variant of the current lineart/not the exact same as what we have right now so the equimagine designs remain 'special', you change your vote to 'unsure'?

The poll doesn't have a very good 'third option' for people who want to say yes to the first half (changing from equimagine's lines) but no to the second half (changing to yul's lines), which is a bit complicated as this is really a two-part question we are looking at.

Hopefully if we can round up those votes who are unhappy about switching to yul's lines, but would still like to see the lines changed to something with more artistic integrity, we can get Tess to consider putting that in as another option in the poll. Which I hope happens, because it's the option that I'd be happiest with, too, and it's definitely been discussed here on the thread.

That way hopefully we can all take some deep breaths and stop the merry-go-round of snippiness, ok? c:

I think this is a fantastic suggestion and one that I would definitely support seeing happen It would be great if we could have a way of announcing this change in the way votes are counted so that people could be more aware of how they're voting (should it take effect) c:

This is just a though, but what is Yul could change her lines and make them seem like they were moving, because that`s what a lot of people seemed to like about Equi designs.

If we could get Tess to switch things around so that there was a clear third option, I think that would greatly improve matters.

I have thus far, not voted for anything. Not voting seemed to be the best option with all the fighting going on here.

I think I'm going to vote no though and here's why.

Should the lineart be updated? Absolutely! Get that art theft out of here so there's no more questions about the integrity of the site!
Should we update the horses & ponies from 2009-2010 so they match the current lines?
No. Equi's horses are more dainty, like arabians. Most of equi's designs would look very strange on Yul's design.
As awesome as the updated ponies look, I don't like the new draft over the old one overall so that's 2/3 'don't like' for me.
Something about the eyes in an equi horse gives it more personality but I love the realistic lines that Yul's has.

Either way, I would much prefer equi's horses to have different lines than the current. It would mean more work for the item artists, but it would cut down equi's lines to one per horse/pony/draft instead of two each.

I think the reason Ricorn posted that was to try to stop people from fighting. A debate and discussion is very different than what most of the people on this thread were doing a large amount of the time in which name calling and accusations were being thrown around. I think that is what prompted that part of the post.

I think everyone needs to take a step back, a deep breath, and discuss this in a polite manner. It is tiring for everyone seeing all the fighting..

I also don't think they should have equi's signature on them. However, what about putting something like, well, ETP on them, and linking that to a thread with an explanation of them having once been on old line-arts, but it having been updated to a new one, without mention of the theft to avoid causing more drama, but with pictures/links to pictures of all of the old line-arts? Sort of like what's done with the PPS pets?

And I don't support switching votes to Unsure. To me that seems like an I have no idea what's going on type of option, and the mods/Tess might be very confused if suddenly hundreds of people have no idea what's going on. There needs to be either an option added so we can vote to be rid of equi's line-art but not go to the regular one, or a promise from Tess of a poll to decide which line-art we switch to later... If either of those happen, I will change my vote.

yulynh's lines already look like they are moving so i do not understand why you are saying to change her lines that was not an option.
