Rainpelt waved her tail in a good-bye to her daughter, Larkpaw. She bounced around to face Drizzlestorm.

Come on then, we don't HAVE to take two warriors '' He lead the two she-cats out of camp and headed to the forest.

Smiling, Rustlepaw chased her brother's tail annoyingly.

"I know but that was the deputy's order." Rainpelt meowed.

"But you are still a kit in the nursery, therefore you are still my little daughter!" Thorntail purred and twined his half-tail with Russetleap's.

Russetleap purred, smiling at Thorntail before turning back to Spottedkit and gently rasping her tongue over the she-kit's ears. "Go play with the other kits," She told her softly, loosening her grip, and nudging her to her paws, "Go have fun; but stay safe!"

As soon as she gave the ok to go out and play, Spottedkit emerged from the nursery.

"What would you like to do?" Thorntail meowed, licking Russetleap's ears lovingly.

Sablekit bounded happily over to Spottedkit as she emerged from the nursery. "You're back! You're back!" She chanted happily, glad that her friend was ok, "She's even scarier than Scarletfeather!"

Russetleap purred and closed her eyes at Thorntail's touch. She didn't know what there was for them to do any more. She was still tired from their outing, and now she wasn't sure whether or not it was wise to leave Spottedkit alone, just in case she tried something again. Why can't everything be as simple as it was when I was an apprentice?!

"Is something wrong?" Thorntail asked, seeing a distant look in her eyes.

Sablekit let a wide smile caress her pretty tabby face as she bounded around Spottedkit, "What do ya wanna do now?"

Russetleap blinked a few times and shook her had, trying to rid the thought from her mind. Russetleap tried to smile, and before he could press no, she stood up and faced the entrance. "Nothing's wrong," She mewed softly in response, "Let's just get out of here..."
