off topic sorry but i have a question- so have they decided that if they change the horses they will be changed to the Arabian horse lines?

Wow, if only people would just butt out and let Tess deal with it. It's her site. IMO, who ever is out there emailing everyone to try to find whoever took those photos is stirring the pot and just making things worse. Really? What is wrong with people.

Wow. You shouldn't say you and everyone who agrees with you are mature and everyone who disagrees is immature. It's not a fact, and some people like the old lines more then the new ones. You should accept that. You can say that you think they should change but still, be nice and respect others whatever their opinions are.

It doesn't matter what you started out with or whether or not you like the lines. The lines are stolen. That's really all that should need to be said. Stolen lines need to be replaced. It's very, very unfair to the people who these lines were stolen from to keep them on the site. It's against the law, and it's against CS rules to steal. It doesn't matter whether you like the lines or not.

Let's say I go and "draw" you something, and you like it a lot. I get attention for it and everything, and act as if I drew it all myself. You recolor my lines for adoptables you're making, and everything is all good.

Later, however, you discover that I actually traced it. Wouldn't that be enough for you to decide you need to use different lines? If you continue using my lines, you're using stolen art. That's definitely not good. So, shouldn't you switch to lines which are not stolen?

And all the people "quitting" over this? Seriously? It's an adoption site. This isn't some political rising, it's a bunch of younger people who collect pets for fun. If you want to quit, go on and find something else that suits your fancy. It's getting to the point of people obviously lying in posts saying beloved friends are quitting CS just for attention and support.

Can we please at least try to stay on the subject of whwther or not the lineart should be changed. If there are any legal issues then they will be dealt with by the admins, that is not what is up for discussion here.

Art theft is a crime and contacting the photographers is, in fact, the right thing to do.

Is there positive proof of the equimagine line-arts all being traced? Sure, the foal line-art matches a photo too closely to be merely coincidental, but this project is for the changing of all equimagine lines. Until there is positive evidence that equimagine did not legally create all of her line-art, it is an opinion.[/left]

no Atwood stated several pages back that the foal lines are the ones addressed and the others have no proof.... the letter being circulated is a form letter sent out whether there is substantiated proof or not...I trust Atwood to be reporting facts on here a lot of members are posting what they only believe to be fact

As far as I know, no claims have been made, or even queries made into it.

Several people have contacted the original owners of the photographs, and apparently they are not pleased.

If anyone else would like to get in contact with the owners of the photographs, let me know. I posted their contact info as best I could find on the thread and would be happy to repost it.

They haven't contacted the site, despite being emailed by all and sundry. And, regarding that, please stop telling people to contact them when you know that's already been done and at this point is nothing short of spamming their email. =.= If they want to take action, they will.

Sure they might have been traced or referenced, but if you look long enough you can find probably ANY real life species on here in a pose in a real picture that looks very similar to the lines.
