I feel like the no side would have a lot more votes if it was addressed in the front post that a lot of the equis are in fact traced instead of equis horrible excuse of accidentally tracing them

I just want to say this: I was looking at the new draft lineart when something occurred to me...the new drafts sorta look like Big Mac from MLP! I now love the lines, like, a thousand times more! : D

I think that as the poll is not pretty conclusive, the new lines should be finished and posted along with more examples and then one last quick vote with compromises on pets like pps horses and the rainbow mane and such

I want the lines to be converted, I mean more unicorns? yes please

Concerning the art theft issue that keeps popping up..,
I don't think we could keep the old equimagine lines anyway with all the negative feelings without a lot of CS getting really angry... I think that there would be a lot of trouble with keeping them the same, something would still have to change wouldn't it?

At least if CS sticks by its rules, they couldn't really keep their equimagine lines anyway as they have been more or less confirmed as traced and hence, breaking CS rules... Even if they don't get changed over to Yulynh's lines they would still have to be changed..

Just my opinion, jump on me if you want but I won't bother replying and fighting with you over it cause everyone is allowed their own opinions and this is mine.

If people are going to quit because they are upset about the possibility of CS no longer tacitly condoning art theft... I say good riddance. We as a community pride ourselves on artistic integrity. It's time we got all of the lineart in line with that philosophy. If somebody isn't on board with making honest artwork, they aren't a good fit for this community and I sincerely hope they go ahead and leave.

Im not really happy about the switch, but its not like im gona quit, i dont own this sight and i dont make the descions, im happy with what ever Tess has to say! If people want to quit, its there fault. I think its stupid to leav such a great sight if you dont get your way. And plus, they dont have a single say in the end result, Tess does!

From what I gather the artists are pretty enthusiastic about the project. And I am, too! I think the way the designs have been re-done are great! It's like going from a VHS to a new Blue-Ray disc - same movie, just more awesome! c:

But some people like VHS. *raises hand* I'm an oldie who would take VHS over a blue ray any time. It may please some, but it doesn't for everyone.

And people really could quit. I almost did when the site got new features. I have almost completely quit other game sites when they changed. I very well might become less active when/if this change takes place. It just wouldn't be as fun anymore. Everything old like me is gone. It's all "modern." Not my cup of tea. How am I supposed to remember the good ol' times on here when it doesn't look the same or have the same pets?

And users that are threatening to quit, some are dead serious. And some are friends of mine. They're not just "random user" to everyone, only to you.

Remember, there are over 400,000 users on CS. Losing around 10 won't be a big deal at all and won't be considered a reason for the mods to discontinue the project. Also, it's a website- if they want to quit, they can quit. It's not like they're going to be hurt in real life. So I don't consider it a concern.
I feel like if people aren't going to accept that CS is changing and maturing, maybe this isn't the site for them.

I agree with the change...It's not like the world is going to explode if they change the line. o.O

i dont like the idea is good because it takes away from the uniqueness away from the pets. a lot of these were done by a retired artist. i think she did very well on them. to redo the pets would seem rather rude to me if i were that artist. equimagine put a lot of work into those pets. are you really going to spend all the time and possible resources to redo CS history?! i for one think you guys should be putting more time into actual important things for your site, like working on getting chicken dollar cards in stores (similar to what face book and farmville do with their virtual money cards). im sorry to say this but i think the older styles do look better than the new ones...except for the draft horse...the new one looks pretty cool.

Equimagine handed her art over to the administrators before she left, therefore she no longer has a say in any of this. She made the mistake and is paying the consequences; not that it really matters regardless since her account on Chicken Smoothie is deleted and no one can seem to get in contact with her.

I may be misunderstanding you, but saying that the site isn't working on "actual important things" can be seen as disrespectful. It'd take the artists a very long time to redo all of equimagine's equines on the site, and I'd say it is pretty important as it's a change over 50% of voters want definitely.

I honestly don't know why the art wasn't just changed straight-off. I wish that Tess and such had just gone ahead and done so, actually!

But, it's put up to a vote. And I think that the questionable lineart is a pretty compelling reason to vote for the change.

As for imagination going wild, by the way, it's kinda hard to imagine this:

Equimagine herself also admitted some level of wrongdoing. It is perhaps not damning enough that it would hold up in court, but it makes the old lineart distinctly, well, icky! There's a cloud of suspicion and dubiousness over them. And we have a perfect opportunity to change that now.

Anyway, on the subject of people leaving...

Hmm...if CS truly and honestly wanted to pride themselves on being honest and all that stuff they would have gotten rid of this the minute they knew it happened. They would not have let it sit here for so long then suddenly decided to change it. Also, if they want to keep out art theft they need a ton more moderators in that section because more times than not I have seen art theft go unpunished. And when I did spot someone who had opied my art I reported it and they did nothing. That's all.

Just because they were slow to react in the past does not mean that it is okay to continue to ignore the theft. There's still a chance to change the lineart and fix the mistakes made in the past.
"They didn't act on it before, why should we now" is not a valid argument.
