They should be enthusiastic. I'd love to be in their shoes. (: I used to be a pose artist for a graphical chat and I really miss coloring line art. Yulynh's line art is awesome and some of Equimagines designs are awesome, so it'd be a win/win situation for me. :b

EXACTLY!!!!

I think that some people are just really passionate about the art theft thing.. many of them let their imaginations go wild.. many of them are artists themselves so it can get really personal.

The fact is, her art was heavily referenced/traced/stolen/whatever and people who want to keep it around because they like it are just pitting their opinion against a hard rule. When something has to change because it is against the rules of a site (or the law even), it should be changed.

Reason: Please respect others' opinions - they have a right to say they're against the change if that's how they feel about it

Only a few of the lines were taken from photos (the foal lines), while the others are possibly suspect but not definite, so the adult lines would be replaced more because of the negative association with those copied lines (and for the uniformity, which is certainly an issue as well), not because they themselves were copied.

Plus most of the people threatening would just leave for a week and then come back anyway. We've all seen it happen before.
(If anything I want the change to happen more when I see people trying the ol' guilt card because wow, no, thats a sucky card to play and if your going to pull the 'I QUIT' card over not being able to keep your stolen horses then CS is probably better off without you, in my opinion.)

oh, haha. You just read my mind. But, I completely agree, it's getting annoying.

I am lost. Who is threatening to quit?? (serious question.. no sarcasm intended)
I think maybe I have seen one person.. it was over the fighting.. not the lineart change.

I would like to add that I think your statement is somewhat non productive.. if they quit, they quit. No need to get all yucky about it.

Various people getting extremely upset over the change. Just go looking back through this thread and you'll see quite a few throwing the 'I'm going to quit!' card.

And I'd say it's predouctive. It's making me want the line change more :V If people are going to start trying to guilt trip me over something as silly as this then I will get as yucky as I want, since they obviously don't care that essentially blaming someone for their quitting might make someone else feel pretty yucky! People have been leaving in tears on both sides and I'm frankly getting sick of seeing huge accusing banners in people's sig's that are trying to play the 'Don't delete me you'll kill me wehhh!' card.

As I make sense of this thread the more I take back what I originally said about how my opinion was to not change the lines. I had no knowledge of the lines being traced. My first opinion was wrong and built upon my solo liking of the lines and lack of knowledge surrounding how they were made. My vote has changed as does my opinion. Change them. Ill be glad to see them go now.

Do not assume CS will take action on anything quickly.
Hey guys, remember the item wishlist?
And the organized rules system?
Anybody?

So the foal lines are going to be changed without the poll?

I guess some people think it's erasing a type of history, and some people do seem to prefer them. (I don't agree, and anyway I believe anything stolen shouldn't be defended at all, its why I feel putting it to a vote was not the best move. But I'm not in charge, and I don't know what went through Tess's mind.)
I think as long as she gets her credit for the designs, because obviously that was her work, then that's enough, and the change should go forward. There are plenty of reasons outside of the tracing to be for it too, but I think the tracing is a big enough point alone.

I agree to an extent. I think having a thread with an archive of equi's designs is enough credit for her.
She signed over the designs to Tess when she quit CS, so really, Tess could do whatever she wants with them.
I think it's frustrating that the mods are deleting a lot of the posts about tracing, because I do agree that it's a huge reason to vote yes on the subject. As soon as I saw this thread, I voted yes purely for that reason. I knew about the tracing a long time ago when Equimagine first retired as horse artist. I honestly didn't know it was that big of a secret, and I think it's really hypocritical of CS to have kept it on the hush hush for so long. As soon as they learned that the lines were stolen, they should have done something about it. Not two years later. Now we have uninformed people on here complaining about not being able to keep old horse lines. Honestly, if the change doesn't happen (though I'm positive it will) I'm just going to delete the few equimagine horses I haven't already traded off. I wanted them off my account when I first learned about the tracing, but since they have little to no demand, I'm still stuck with some :I

I'm sure that the website would be upset if the lines were changed suddenly without permission. This is something Tess wants to make sure that most of the site would like to do before she puts it in motion.
