Don't worry - it's false. ;3 Pretty sure there's been no contact from any of the photographers or sites at this point, and the people who contacted them just got the standard "Thank you for your concern" email back. If anyone was actually going to take legal action (which wouldn't make any sense in this situation anyway, as it's a DMCA issue), they certainly wouldn't be expressing it to random people who emailed them instead of the site owner. X3

I think people need to stop arguing... this isn't helping Tess at all, no matter which side you are fighting for. I understand the art theft is an important thing, and I put my thoughts on that below, but people are starting to get rude and throwing around accusations which I don't think that Tess would want at all...
We should just state if we want them changed, or not, and why and leave it at that. Everyone is allowed to have their opinion and state it without feeling like they are being jumped on.

Concerning the art theft issue people seem to keep bringing up,
I think a lot of people aren't realizing that with all the hype that has been stirred up, I don't think we could keep the old equimagine lines anyway.. I think that there would be a lot of trouble with keeping them the same, something would still have to change wouldn't it? At least if CS sticks by its rules, they couldn't really keep their equimagine lines anyway as they have been more or less confirmed as traced and hence, breaking CS rules... Even if they don't get changed over to Yulynh's lines they would still have to be changed..

Just my opinion, jump on me if you want but I won't bother replying and fighting with you over it cause everyone is allowed their own opinions and this is mine.

I do not like this idea because you are changing an artists work. I love equines horse and hoard them when I have the chance to get them. Since those art lines aren't being use anymore, it goes into the archives and just show the history and it also shows the person that took them time out to make the lines and designs.

Equi's lines are tracings of REAL PICTURES. We can't use them in the site otherwise some huge problems will happen.

Yeah.. they are cute.. and I do love the horses and ponies she made.. But equi obviously didn't spend a lot of time if she traced it.

Oh, I'm sure she spent SOME amount of time on it.

Honestly, seeing the people quitting because they don't want the lines to change is a bit dramatic.
But I do have to say, that I think that the new draft lines are much better than the old ones. They have good detail, and look more like a draft than Equin's did. They also have a good stance and a better representation of what a real sraft should look like.

Exactly! Why change something? It's like deleting an artists work. Then none of it was done by her and it's like someone copying her work. Well, that's how I feel. But, whatever they choose, it isn't too big of a deal, because everyone has a life outside of CS, right?

Because Equimagine's lines are considered stolen and violating Copyright laws Besides, the designs are still by her, so of course some of it's by her, actually, the most important part is by her- the designs! Does this make sense?

Fair enough, I think a lot of people have made some good points, and I understand they keep her designs. But she is still not the one that draws the designs, even if they make them. And it was an accident that she copied a photo. (Or so I have heard)

Yes, of the standard form letter. X3 That's in no way a "threat of legal action", that's the standard letter you get if you submit any sort of claim to Shutterstock, whether they think it's even remotely valid or not.

It may be well worded but will not change people's opinions. Personally I think the old draft lines fit the site better, if you look even just at a glance the old lines appear to be smiling and happy. When you look at the new lines however they just appear to be out of proportion and they have a really serious look on their face, almost as if they are frowning.

Yes, but that's a generic email sent to the person who reported the infringement, simply stating that they received the report. Whether or not Shutterstock is planning to do anything remains to be seen, and the staff don't want people spreading rumors or causing panic.

I just don't understand why people are threatening to quit- no one is really going to care if some random user quits???
Plus most of the people threatening would just leave for a week and then come back anyway. We've all seen it happen before.
(If anything I want the change to happen more when I see people trying the ol' guilt card because wow, no, thats a sucky card to play and if your going to pull the 'I QUIT' card over not being able to keep your stolen horses then CS is probably better off without you, in my opinion.)
