CS's history is tainted. This change would be for the greater good. No skeletons left in the closet, so to speak. It would rid CS of this embarrassment and could possibly save the site.

look the pic were not copy righted they can not do any thing to chicken smoothie and yes as you say their would be "skeletons left in the closet"

She did not receive express permission from the owners of the images. No matter how you try to justify it, she stole the lines and the repercussions have been a long time coming.

um i don't see how a traced line art that doesn't even look good can be considered cs history, or at least anything we want to remember

It's one of the example horses that Sorren made - she posted it in the thread in response to someone who was concerned about how that particular horse would look in the new lines. :3

I was going to comment on this horse when it was posted earlier, but I didn't have enough time. Oh my gosh though, this thing is perfect <3 The bunny horses have always been some of my favorite designs, but I never liked the older draft lineart. On this one though it looks absolutely stunning <3 If this change did end up happening I might end up having to do a hoard of this design, because it looks so amazing on these new lines <3
/ok done fangirling now
All in all though I'm really hoping this change goes through, and I'm really excited to see the updated versions if it does c:

Yes they were, as soon as you take the picture and post it under your name and have no things saying others can use it you can't. If you don't have explicit permission, or credit them, it is art theft, especially since the lines are directly traces.
And what skeletons would be left, hmm?

That's what drafts look like. Equi didn't do as well a job at showing a true draft.

Draft horses are thick all over, their head, their neck, their legs, everything. For many, the body does look shorter, because they aren't as graceful or light as, say an Arabian or Saddlebred horse. They have big, bulging muscles for the most part, because remember, they're usually bred to work!
Here's one example of a real draft.

Fuzzeh wrote:I'm for the idea of using a different line-art if this goes through, but I would very much prefer if it was one of the free line-arts for the horses. There are plenty of edits to choose from. These are some examples. All are similar enough for items to work, but different enough to tell them apart. And all free from the start.

I agree, using the store arabian lines would probably cause issues. The only reason I keep mentioning them is because none of the other lines look enough like the Equi horses for me to think that it would work as a compromise. Maybe if the ears were changed, the Marwari could work?

I think with the right mix of edits to the lineart we could probably come up with something that could please the fans of the old lineart. ^^

Speaking as someone who's been here almost since the beginning of the site, I don't think history is in itself a reason to keep these lines around. We've had line changes before, twice with Malk's pets and once with equi's lines. While they are a part of the site and have been for quite some time, I see no problem with changing the lines- especially considering Equi's lines have been changed once already. They were also retired and "replaced" by Yulynh's adoptables.
Keeping old lines, some of which were traced, is not necessarily in the best interest of CS.

so your choise is to just to toss them out like old garrbage

No, my choice is to phase them out with lines that I feel represent CS better and show much more care and detail than the old lines did. Not all change is bad, and while i respect the fact that people are attached to the lines, I think it would be much more beneficial to replace them.
Please don't be rude.

They are not rare because of the lines or designs, they are rare because of demand and how many are in circulation throughout cs

Slightly late, but demand doesn't affect rarity. Equinagine's horses mostly have pretty low demand ans there are plenty of rare ones, as a relevant example.
