Honestly, I don't think this should be done. Yunlyh's signature is on most horses because she did the LINES, not the design. Most of the horses done recently have designs done by other staff members. Also, not all of the designs done on the old horse lines were done by equimagine. If we went for the "fairness" as you're describing, there would have to be two names on every pet that's released on CS now. Who did the lines, and who did the design on it. I think it would be ridiculous and cluttered. Equi will probably still get credit for the designs in the archive, but her signature on the horses shouldn't be displayed, as the only reason Yunlyh's signature is there is because she made the lines themselves.

It's simply a way to please those that don't want to see Equimagine be forgotten. I do agree that it's not exactly fair, but everyone is going to have to give up something here, it seems. Yulynh's permission would be required, I'd imagine. Under the circumstances I don't see this is a particularly bad course of action. Not the best, but better than creating an entirely new line art, deleting Equimagine completely, or getting sued. (:

Personally I think it would be much more beneficial for the site to just go ahead and switch over. It's a shame that many people's feelings will be hurt, (while I dislike the equi lines, I remember being annoyed about the malk line changes because I had grown attached to the old lines) but looking at what the change would do for the site, I think it's a much more viable option. Being "pretty" doesn't count for much when art theft is involved.
At this point, I don't think the vote matters. Either CS will change the lines through the support of its members, or somewhere down the road they'll be forced to. Having traced adoptables, even retired ones, reflects very poorly on a site. CS is HUGE, yet we can't even handle blatant theft even when it's been pointed out to us? That's the impression it gives, and it's not a good one.

I can understand liking the looks of the old lines better, especially if you were unaware of the tracing, but this issue should've been decided the second it was revealed that the lines were traced. If these were just old lines that were going to be phased out because they no longer fit with CS's style, it would be different and I would probably vote to keep them, but it's not.
The lines are traced, and by supporting the traced lines you're saying that art theft is okay.

People need to put their personal feelings aside and realize that these lines go directly against the rules of CS. If they did, maybe we wouldn't have gone back and forth arguing for the past few days.
Everyone just needs to take a step back. And even if you support the change, there's absolutely no need to be nasty to eachother.

I'm not sure if it's your wording or what, but it doesn't seem like we're all on the same page. It IS theft. She placed a piece of paper over a photograph, outlined the image behind, added some details, and called it her own. That is theft and that's the major issue. As I also stated before, the coloring and designs WERE her work, and therefore that's what's staying. So technically, none of her work will be done away with.

I would agree with that, but Yunlyh's signature is on the art, whilst she had nothing to do with the design. I think equimagine's name should remain with the designs.

I agree with having both names shown. I suggested it a hundred or so pages back. We would still be honoring Equimagines designs, but doing away with the shady line work.

I'm going to vote no.

The reason is that equimagine herself will not be coloring the lines. If it was her coloring the lines, I'd say okay. But really, it's like totally losing her art. It won't be her art, only her design redrawn by someone else.
And yes, I realize her designs were signed over to Tess. But it doesn't quite capture the...spirit, I guess of her drawings.

What will the updated donkeys be like?

I'm not sure yet. ^^ Yul did edit her pony lines to look like donkeys at Christmas, but she might be making new lines. I'm not 100% sure.

I am not so worried about the horses anymore.. As the yes's appear to be the majority.

My concern is for the lil guys in my signature.. as well as other PPS's.. and the donkeys of course.

While I agree that Equi shouldn't require credit for her designs, I think it's a small enough thing that if it will help convince people to change their vote, I'm all for it. Part of the issue seems to be that people enjoyed Equi's work and don't like that it's all being replaced.
A small tag on the updated horses would certainly soften the blow a little bit.

I do understand this and I'd be happy with just transferring the designs and leaving it at that. I'm simply trying to find a middle ground so everyone can stop bickering. I personally wouldn't want to honor someone that condones and takes part in art theft. If her name is erased, that's fine with me. If it needs to be placed on the recolored horses just to get the stolen art out of here, I'll tolerate it.
