Exactly this. I saw a ton of people get upset about the one single rat changing- how would people react if every equi horse was changed overnight with no warning?

On that note, how come that rat gets altered like *snap* that because it looks somewhat similar in colour schemes to an offsite design done by the same artist, but a bunch of traced lines need to be voted on? Isn't that a wee bit... hypocritical?

Perhaps it was because of the sheer scale? Changing dozens(hundreds?) of pets is a lot different than changing a single rat so it would require some amount of pre-warning..

.. And the fact the rats only added a bit of shading. This change will result in horses looking completely different. :C

They are the ones who pulled this site together and made it what we come to enjoy daily. I'm hoping people understand this stuff a bit better and maybe trust their own administration. They've been good to us thus far, so maybe show a bit of respect and trust in their judgement and opinions and even claims. So maybe take the time and read the front page.

My apologies to Tess and staff, but, I don't trust them. They refused to acknowledge this was an issue when it wasa brought to their attention initially, and deleted any posts talking about it. They covered this up and simply did not address the problem.
So no, I do not trust them.

If you don't trust the staff... Why are you on this website? ^^'

Draikinator, I think you need to settle down for a while. The problem had been brought to their attention, so now they're trying to take care of it so no one gets into trouble. I'd rather see this change than seeing the site be shut down. Over half of us has spent real money on here (store pets, store items, trades, etc), so it's only fitting that the line-art of the older pets be changed. I'm only wondering just what the donkeys and the unicorns will look like. That has me very curious.

Also, it's kind of petty to leave just because a lineart changes. There are other things on this website. Why leave over one tiny thing? (Leaving because of the stolen artwork being kept, however, I get. No artist or anyone who appreciates art wants stolen goods.)

250+ horses and ponies being changed to a different lineart [and their designs being altered, too] is not a "tiny thing." It's a huge thing. If it were one pony or horse being changed, then it would be a tiny thing.
And maybe that so-called "tiny thing" is the person's favorite thing about the site.

Well, no, that's not how it works.
Put yourself in Tess's place. You're trying to gauge whether or not you should make this change. 52 percent wants the change to happen, and 12 percent doesn't care. That means 64 percent of users are not against the change.

The issue was brought to their attention months ago. This is hardly news.
I am calm. I don't understand what you're problem with me expressing an opinion is.

Because..I don't know, maybe they thought giving a bit of 'power' or choice to the users would help soften the blow even more.

To be honest, I sort of think Tess was going to go through with it regardless of what the poll said. But that might be entirely untrue, I don't know.

P.S. Thank you to those who answered my question on the Roadkill PPS from last night. I guess it was deleted or somethin' 'cause it's not showing up in my recent posts so I can't direct my gratitude to those specific individuals but to know it was brought to the attention of staff makes me feel a bit better. I just feel the design was pulled off perfectly with Equimagine's lines and it would indeed have seemed weird if the Roadkill PPS was redone on Yuhlyn's Original Pony PPS lines, 'cause it'd be standing instead of looking... dead. xD

@ odin: Demand won't last on these horses, like Calix said. I'm pretty sure it'll last a month before dimming down again. Besides, the transformation is going to take time. If you're really worried about these horse's demand going up though all you like are the dogs, then what are you concerned about, everyone asking for quantity of the changed horses for their Black Advents? :P That'd be so funny if that were to happen... xD

Posts aren't deleted; on global announcements they don't show up in your 'view my posts' section, nor can you use search on this thread.

The demand will probably go up but not by a huge amount. It's already quite hard to trade off old equi lines, so it'd probably just even out to a reasonable level.

Oh wow. I never knew that. xD That seems pretty odd. Why is it not possible to search on the Global Annoucnements?

And that's true. It'll probably be like when a new, amazing PPS comes out in the monthly adoptions that some people think is going to be extremely rare 'cause they don't have it. It should be a fun time. :P

I could understand why. I believe Equimagine when she says it was never intentional and it was a pure coincidence. They happen. It's not like coincidences are always something people use to cover up a lie. Sometimes it's a legitimate coincidence. Also references are a big thing. You really can't draw something you've never drawn before correctly if you intend to make it realistic. You'll most likely make some anatomical errors. They do look the same but they are definitely not traced in my opinion. Sometimes art looks the same if you use a reference. c: It's no biggie. Artists do it all the time. Also it's not like she's getting paid for her stuff, and I don't think the photographer's really care if she was "using the outlines of their horses". If they did care they would have said something earlier to Tess. Plus, I don't think she ever made store horses using her lines so there's no problem there.

No..it means 12% won't care either way. I believe Draik meant that it means 64% won't get upset and throw a huge fit- because they either wanted the change or didn't care.

I don't get how anyone here could blame the staff. They made this website for you guys... Shame.
