So apparently the 'tumblr CS community' has known about this for a long time so why are the photographers only being contacted now? O.o that us honestly really baffling
On phone sorry for awkwardness
It's not so much the 'tumblr community' and more some of the older members who just happen to BE on tumblr. It's only just picking up steam now because it's pretty much been swept under the rug and ignored for the past few years, hence why so many people simply
didn't know about the whole tracing aspect of this.
(Don't worry, I was confused when I found out about it too!)
Still confused I must admit
Why didn't those who knew contact the photographers once they found out? It's not like the photographers are on CS; they could have just gone to contact them as easily then, right?
On phone sorry for awkwardness
I suppose because so few people knew back then? It really wasn't a well known thing, but this all happened while I was on break from CS so I really don't know what all went down, sorry!
(And don't worry, I know all too well how awkward phones can be :V)

Not really, I think they deserve to know what's happened with their images. If some of my work was stolen, I'd be very glad to know where and who was using it rather than it all just being swept away without my knowledge.
That's true, but this is an issue that should be worked out between them and tess, not some random user on her site.
Honestly, how understanding do you think the photographer will be after getting dozens(or possibly even hundreds) of spammy emails about this?
The problem is that Tess, for whatever reason (which could very well be an extremely valid reason!) hasn't worked anything out or contacted the original photo owners, so it's become the responsibility of the users to track down the owners and tell them.
And yes, it probably is annoying for the photographers to get a dozen messages altering them to this- but it's probably going to be
infuriating for them to find out that no one in a position of power has (as far as I know) contacted them themselves and talked about what's going on.
Because CS makes money, and as the traced horses are part of the site which brings in people to pay money, it's become a far more serious issue than if this had all been dealt with the second equi admitted to tracing.
