it doesnt even matter what the original photographer says, tracing is art theft and art theft is bad. though if it were my photography i would be very pissed and say yes to taking it down anyway.

Please read what i wrote at the top^^ if we need to take down the old lines due to the photographers demands then let us do so but if not then lets have options.... We all use refs at one point inour life, especially when we were young so everyone has done this immoral action before~ dont say you havent because its simply human hature, hun~

There's a difference in tracing/heavily referencing when it comes to using it as a personal learning tool. If that is something that helps you, then it needs to stay in your sketchbook, or even be thrown away when you master the subject. NEVER EVER used in a public manner and claimed as your original work.

So what you're telling me is this proposed change IS in fact increasing Equimagine horses' popularity?
I've seen it myself as well. Gotten more trades for her various linearts over the past two days than ever before.
It's like people who've known of the tracing issues for years and shunned her linearts because of it are now happily trading for those same horses at the prospect of watching them miraculously change to a valid uncontended lineart with fresh new paint jobs.

I was never fond of either of the old pony lines, but I liked the newer equimagine horse lines:

I thought the slight changes made them look much better and was sort of hoping they would update all the old lines to the newer ones, but that never happened. Even if we might be losing this lines, I think the bigger picture would be better. Many of the older designs could be redone beautifully by the artists, I think the designs/techniques have evolved greatly ever since the site started. I believe some of them would look much better now than they did then and maybe that would make people give them a little more credit.

I'm regretting giving away some of my unicorns now. I'm sure they'll be difficult to find again what with all of this going on.

Which is a shame, because I think unicorns had so much potential. I'm not bashing Equi by any means, just a bit disappointed with how the unicorns originally came out.

I will have to trade for them again if the new lines update comes in. I didn't like the look of the old lines, so traded them all away. Even the drafts. Now they are looking super yummy, I'll have to go about re-collecting!
