I like my pets the way they are now and I don't want them changed. How would you like it if your favorite pet that took you forever to find and pay for was changed to something you didn't like? It took me forever to find my roadkill pps and I don't want that changed either. Is there any proof the lines are stolen? And stolen from who or what? I would also like to have variety in horses like we do now and not just 1 or 2 kinds.

I see some questions, answers, and arguments being repeated over and over and over in this topic. If there is anything that you're unsure of, please just read through the topic first to see if what you're looking for has already been covered.

We have noticed that it seems like the main concerns so far are about a few favorite pets like the PPS ponies and the rainbow mane changing. If the opinion remains divided then we may re-vote with new conditions such as keeping the PPS ponies and have special line edits for things like the rainbow mane horse so that it still looks good on the new lines.

Some users say that her lines were traced from photos. equimagine has a longer explanation for how they came about, which in a few words is basically that she referenced for personal use, forgot about it when re-using old personal sketches for CS purposes, and that some connections other users made between photos and her lines were coincidental. Some of her lines closely resemble photographs that she didn't have personal permission to use, which upset many users, and was part of the motivation for retiring her lines in the first place. She maintains that she never intended to use photo-copied linearts for CS and that it was a careless mistake. She did update the lines for a second round but people still mistrusted her and her horses and ponies were not very popular at the time (although apparently have more support these days).

Somebody provide links to the comparisons of the horses, please.

The evidence is posted at least a hundred times throughout this thread. Look page into the pages more and you'll easily find it.

I am loving these professional changes to the appearance! Those drafts are just wonderful!
But my true opinion will be put in once i see the unicorn lines...

As I've mentioned before, even if we'll loose Equi's lines we'll get =

- New zebra lines
- Unique lines for rainbow mane
- unique lines for dice and buckskin pps
- unique lines for roadkill pps
- new draft lines
- new donkey lines
- we still have the occasional line edits
- new unicorn lines

Just because we'll be no longer using the old lines which are currently unique, we'll be getting quite a few new, interesting lines.

I know that. But if the ponies and horses don't go through with the change, then there would be no reason to change the zebras either.

Yes, there is quite a bit of proof that at least a few of the lines are stolen. They were traced off various photographs not belonging to equi, making it art theft. Most of the accused pictures can be seen (-removed-), with both the photos and possibly stolen linearts put together for comparison.

And I agree that it would be a hard change to make, but the fact that many of the lines being traced puts CS in a bad position. Hopefully if the staff chooses to go through with the project the new lineart will grow on you! ^^
Also there is a chance that "special" pets like PPS' and the rainbow mane will remain the same.

Well... I really like the new lines, and woould LOVE for all the horses to be from the ame lines. But at the same time I want the last horse artist's art to be honored (I can't ever remember how to spell her username, and it is a pain to look up on a phone). What if MOST of the horses were switched to the new line art, but a few kept the old lines? Those few could become special like Malk's and Tess's horses.

I really don't want them changed. Over time we are going to get many more of the new linearts and I think this is like the squids. We get a pet we like and it's changed or taken away. I think that some people chose yes just because they got excited over the new draft and we haven't had a new pet in a while. If they want to release them again as the new lineart with the same design under adopt that's fine but please don't change the old ones!

But they're STOLEN it doesn't MATTER if we like them or not.

We did get the squids though XD I believe if there are problems and uncertainties with the lines, then go ahead. It's definitely not been mostly about the new pet idea.
