Anything and everything can be forgiven, and if you all really truly wanted to move on like you claim in every single post then stop posting the pictures, stop saying stuff about it, and try with all ya got to forgive her. I realize she commited a crime, but I bet that if you did something like that you would want to be forgiven too. You would not want everyone to keep piling it on and bringing it up every second of the day. Nobody understands fully what I post except for those select few people on CS who are nice and have found it in their hearts somewhere to forgive her so yes I expect people to bash and push away everything I post but at least think about it guys.

Consider that it was your art being stolen. How many of us here would let a website profit off our images without our consent? If anyone should be insulted, it's the photographers. Equi broke the rules, and the copy right holders are the victims. CS does not forgive user art thieves. Why is she getting such special treatment for apologizing? Plenty of people must beg with the admins, and only she got off.

Yes, we do. Again, why does everyone think it's 'You copied this picture - BANNED FOREVER!!!!1!!11!! >:C'. When someone traces art without permission, their work is locked and they are warned, but they're almost always allowed to stay and continue drawing, so long as they're not continuing to copy other people's art. If people make threads about how that person is an art thief, those threads are deleted for harassment, as the person is permitted to continue forward without being hounded for their past mistakes. It's only repeat offenders who are likely to get banned for art theft.

The only reason this is such a big thing is because it was a staff artist. The copied lines were 'locked' by being retired and were no longer used, though the pets already on those lines weren't deleted, same as Oekakis on a copied lineart often aren't deleted after locking. Equi was treated pretty much exactly like any other member in this. People are angry that she wasn't treated more harshly than anyone else.

Everyone agrees that there was wrongdoing. Equimagine herself said so. This isn't the thread for debating that; there's nothing to debate.

What we're saying, though, is that these linearts of dubious origin are still in use. And that the ETP would make it so they were no longer in use. And for me and many others, that's a really good reason to support this project. c:

What makes CS unique is how the site as a whole values artistic integrity. If we're still using stolen lineart, that goes out of the window, doesn't it?

Like I said, we're better than this! It's time to make the switch, leaving CS completely spotless when it comes to such accusations. That way CS can still stand out among other sites, not for hypocrisy, but for true artistic integrity.

This is the first time it's been really discussed on the site - keep that in mind, too. I'm very glad that the mods decided to go ahead and let this be out in the open; when the thread first started, all posts relating to this compelling reason to switch were deleted. And it IS a very compelling reason to make the switch, I think. But that's why there hasn't been much discussion of this on CS until now. There's been plenty of discussion on secondary sites, of course. Unfortunately this means that CS developed a bit of a reputation for being hypocritical. I don't think it deserves that. But we can fix that by making sure we're not using stolen lineart. c:

We're not promoting this idea out of malice or spite or wanting to be mean to equimagine. It's just simply a wrong that we want to see made right.

No offence, but I like the older horse linearts better than the new ones. They are much cuter and made me actually care about the horses. I'm not a big fan of the new art. I mean lately, the new horses have had very boring designs, so I just put them in the pound while the old horses were actually worth keeping because I could tell there was much thought on the design. I just feel that the new horses' designs are carelessly thought out. I want variety. I'm sure that others would aggree. If anyone has any comments about my post, please pm me for I can't keep track of forums.

This topic is about if you want the lines changed or not.

NOT art theft and crimes. So drop it, seriously.

But a very good reason for wanting the lines to be changed is the fact that they are traced?

Yes, but all those posts are spam. We get that they're traced. We don't need to babble on and on.

But the big problem is many users DON'T KNOW they are traced. I've seen users change their vote after finding this information out.

I wish this would just be done and over with. I feel like this is tearing us apart. I'm sick of seeing rude comments on both sides, absolutely sick of it.

    I personally love equimagine's lines.
I think that they should be left just as they are.

Though I do see the issues that would arise trying to decorate the ponies with the old lines and add items to them, since all of the newly created items are made to fit to the newer horse lines.

This is the first time I've heard anything about traced art, though.
But, by reading through the first post, I was unsure as to if art theft/tracing was ever confirmed, or if two pieces just happened to look similar?

One of my thoughts exactly, I dont think CS will be near as good if all the horses are the same, as you said they will be very boring.

Of course it is not as serious as murder and torture. But sometimes it takes the more extreme side of something to get people to understand the lesser side. Art theft and plaigarism is a crime. Simple as that. It doesn't matter if it is miniscule or more serious - a crime needs to be delt with. Obviously I'm not saying CS needs to get in trouble, nor Equi, but we do need to fix this mistake and move on, which means removing the lines and replacing them with original linearts that were not traced.

I posted links to some comparison images on page 205 of this topic (or roughly 205).
