Really, CS is just better than this, y'know?

What makes CS unique is how the site as a whole values artistic integrity. If we're still using stolen lineart, that goes out of the window, doesn't it?

Like I said, we're better than this! It's time to make the switch, leaving CS completely spotless when it comes to such accusations. That way CS can still stand out among other sites, not for hypocrisy, but for true artistic integrity.

This is the first time it's been really discussed on the site - keep that in mind, too. I'm very glad that the mods decided to go ahead and let this be out in the open; when the thread first started, all posts relating to this compelling reason to switch were deleted. And it IS a very compelling reason to make the switch, I think. But that's why there hasn't been much discussion of this on CS until now. There's been plenty of discussion on secondary sites, of course. Unfortunately this means that CS developed a bit of a reputation for being hypocritical. I don't think it deserves that. But we can fix that by making sure we're not using stolen lineart. c:

We're not promoting this idea out of malice or spite or wanting to be mean to equimagine. It's just simply a wrong that we want to see made right.

As I said before, it was silenced whenever it was brought up for Equi's protection. Some of us have known about this since she was still an official artist, but any attempt to mention it was quickly deleted because the mods didn't want Equi getting attacked over it.

But a very good reason for wanting the lines to be changed is the fact that they are traced?

It's because the truth about this was shushed up for so long, actually. I don't think it's jumping on the bandwagon if people are hearing about this for the first time. It's important to us because it's theft and Equi was basically breaking the law. I and a few other people knew about this, actually more than a few. Telling other people the truth and having them realize that CS has traced artwork is not jumping on the bandwagon. It is setting the story straight.
You can't be upset about something before you knew it happened. If you find out someone was lying to you about something and get upset, no one would tell you "you're just doing this all of a sudden, if you really were angry about this you would have done something ages ago" because you didn't know yet.

Yes, but all those posts are spam. We get that they're traced. We don't need to babble on and on.

I wasn't aware of the theft when it occurred. The staff, to my knowledge, never released any info on the fact that the old lines were traced, which I assume is the true reason for changing them to the second set of equi's lines.
Now that I am aware of it, I am appalled and shocked that this issue was not fixed entirely years ago. No, I'm not appalled or shocked at Equi. It was a mistake, everyone can get over it. But the mistake was never fixed, and that's what currently upsets me.

You take away their rights as an artist. It doesn't MATTER what you think they do or do not lose. Their work BELONGS to them. And you have no right to take it and use and say they haven't lost anything. Why should they post their photos onlime when people are just going to steal them? Why should anyone post art?
They/Them pronouns only.

I wish this would just be done and over with. I feel like this is tearing us apart. I'm sick of seeing rude comments on both sides, absolutely sick of it.
    It's good to be back.
