I'm pretty sure there were some users who knew about it before hand.

But now that most of us (at least you, me and the people on this thread) know, should we do nothing about it? Especially when the admin and artists are giving us a chance to fix this mistake?

was ninja'd about a million times but
can i just say that the art theft hasn't effected us because the original photographers obviously didn't know. [yes, members on cs did know, any posts mentioning it were just deleted]
but i know that at least one of them [the photographers] does know now, and some of the others will know soon. and even if they did or didn't know, or they didn't care, would that make it ok? of course not, i don't see how any one here would think it does! honestly, a site should stick to its OWN rules, i don't see how artists are an exception to this, or how the art should stay simply because some members value the appearance of the pets over the very serious moral and legal issues surrounding their origins.

also, no one's only bringing it up to 'bash equimagine'. that's probably one of the most bothersome things i keep hearing on this thread. NO ONE'S BASHING HER, we're just pointing out that ignoring a very serious issue will only cause more severe and frequent problems in the future.

You've just joined, I dont expect you to understand all of this.

Slow down. Don't use that as a reason to act condescending. There is a problem, that problem is Equi and her stolen art, and CS is going to have to fix that.
If the staff can get away with tracing, it isn't fair for the same rules they ignored to be forced upon the users.

I realize she commited a crime, but I bet that if you did something like that you would want to be forgiven too. You would not want everyone to keep piling it on and bringing it up every second of the day. Nobody understands fully what I post except for those select few people on CS who are nice and have found it in their hearts somewhere to forgive her so yes I expect people to bash and push away everything I post but at least think about it guys.

Okay, now I'm getting irritated.
How DARE you assume that we don't understand what you're saying, that we aren't nice, that we can't find it in our hearts to forgive, which also suggests heartlessness. I HAVE forgiven her, thank you. Don't you tell me I haven't. I understand exactly what you're saying. But what YOU don't seem to grasp is the fact that the mistake must still be fixed! It can't just stay there, it is an issue that SERIOUSLY needs resolving. Equi is not a godawful human being for making this mistake, nor does it make her a terrible artist. The mistake is easily forgiven. SHE is easily forgiven. But it must be amended and set right.

If a person were to use a song belonging to another as the basis for their own as practice, then they forget to edit it and make it entirely their own before recording it, they are not branded as some terrible person. It was a genuine mistake. But while they are forgiven, their song CANNOT be allowed to remain due to copyright. The song must be fixed or deleted. They can't just 'forgive and forget' it.

Speaking for myself, if I had done this, and this chance came up to clean the slate of my horrible mistake, I would jump on it.

Leaving these horses as they are is actually hurting her reputation more than it's helping; this issue will continue to be brought up as new users sign on and eventually figure it out and wonder why nothing was done about it.

Of course I forgive her. And I don't want to bash her or anything.

It's just like if you steal a candy bar from a store. Everyone can forgive you. But you haven't truly made it right until you either give the candy bar back or pay for it, right?

What we're talking here is about making things right. That's why so many people are in favor of this lineart switch.

You seem to think that everyone here is gunning for Equimagine's feelings. We're not! We've just seen a problem that hasn't been corrected yet, and want to see it fixed.

I want to make something very, very clear.
Those of us who voted "yes" are not trying to put equimegine down. As Haraplyce said, we are trying to right a wrong. Whether or not you agree, that's what we're doing and if you can't see it that way, then that's that.

And discrimintion against new users, TGenie? I don't know you, and nor do I care, but that's rude and no one wants to hear it. Please apply your manners in this forum.
    It's good to be back.

Another thing, why is it that everyone is like "Bring this to Justice" and "Bleh bleh bleh Art theft Ble bleh" when no one really talked about this on CS until this topic. Is it only so important to you now because you want a good reason to support why you said 'Yes'? This is the first time I heard of it, people are just jumping on the bandwagon.

The owner of the photo doesn't even loose anything. They still have the original photo.

Most of us haven't heard about it until now either, so it's not a surprise there hasn't been much talk about it before.

Because it wasn't allowed.
Every bit of info that came up was hastily deleted, so it stayed in the shadows for a while. Meanwhile, offsite, cs based sites and blogs learned and shared everything. CS wouldn't tell anyone, basically, so unless you dug you wouldn't have known.
