But, that isn't art. They are real photos of horses. At least, I think so.
If it isn't art, but irl photos, why should it be called art theft?
It's like turning a photo of a cat into a drawing to compare.

Photos are art. It's to capture beauty in things, and isn't that was drawing is? Yes, it's art, in most people's point of view. I didn't realize photos were art until about a year ago. But they are. So yes, it's art theft.

Okay, fair enough, not all of them may be traced because of the nature of how horses are, but there are indeed at least three that look too close for comfort for me.
I'm sorry if I used hyperbole's to make it sound like EVERYTHING was traced, but still. I still think that even one set of lines traced are too many.

As a photographer my self, I would be furious if somebody traced my photos without my permission.

Also, I'm hoping they'll finish the unicorn lineart soon. I don't want them to rush it, though.

Yes but photography is art and equine was a artist but didnt use any real art skills and that is not fair

So I'm going to say again that I can't wait to see the new unicorn line art. I'm super excited. I don't really like the current unicorns, but I love unicorns in general, so I'm going to be collecting each of them in anticipation of the change. (: Aaand if it doesn't happen, at least I'll be able to give the whole batch to someone as a gift. :p

i must say, if we do update the draft LA... Wouldn't we be able to create more? And add them to the monthly adopts? I love both draft lines. So I would just be wondering

Honestly, I still don't see how 'tracing' a photo of something real is bad, but whatever. Please don't bash me for it, I don't want millions of people yelling at me.

I still say no to the change.
I don't want any form of 'upsetting' change to CS.
I'd like the pets to stay the way they are, thank you very much.

They're referring to these lines. They were sold in the C$ store last year, and more closely resemble the old Equi lines. (arabians are a breed of horse, in case that was also unclear)

I agree, the arabian lines would be a happy medium between the two. Maybe having something to set the equi designs apart would help to please those who are upset about the change. ^^

I don't see a difference other than the small main and tail edits. or is that what everyone is talking about?

The face is also different from the normal horse lines and the shading is different. They're very small differences, but because the old horses were also arabians and had similar features it was a more appealing option for some.

I agree. Also, the fact that several of the lines are almost certainly traces and the rest look suspicious, it's very difficult to trust that the rest of equi's work was 100% her own. It would be a good idea for CS to just do away with her lines entirely, rather than bicker back and forth over which ones were traced. We already know for sure that the foal was traced, and that's enough evidence for me to say that yes, the lines should be changed.

For me (besides the foals) this is the biggest problem. The lines and the photo match almoste exactly.

It is completely un fair for some one to be pet artist on here and not even use there own art skills.If there is tracing I dont get why we just change them instead of having a poll?

Your opinion on tracing is kind of irrelevant next to something I like to call copyright laws, sorry.
