"Sounds like james's plan is to leave when his brothers ready and gets here...but I hope the infected don't find us all sooner." I get up also and peek out the near by window, playing with a lock of curls absentmindedly in my right hand.

"Yeah..." John muttered. He looked up at the wall and stared at it blankly. He felt so... Empty inside. He wondered for a moment what he'd do if a few zombies just walked through the door right now. He'd like to believe that he'd fight, but... Something was just telling him to give in. He shook his head slowly and took in a deep breath before he walked into the kitchen to get a drink of water.

I peel my eyes from the window and watch John enter the kitchen. Turning back, I close the curtain with a flick of my wrist, thoughts looming my head. 'What if mom is alive....She cant be, or at least I hope not...But still?' Wes had always thought mom would recover, but we both lost hope when we got word that she was being moved to the insane asylum. She died that day to me, and right now, I don't think I'm capable of thinking she's alive. With a shake of the head, I plop down on the couch somewhat deep in thought.

John grabbed a glass and placed it under the faucet before he ran to water. He quickly drank the water and sighed. He turned the handle to stop the liquid before he set his glass down and rubbed his face. He set his hands down on the counter and leaned against it as he shook his head, trying to rid himself of the dark thoughts that swam through his head.

Five minutes later, Id been staring at the wall long enough Im surprised I didn't make a mark. Finally breaking my stare, comming back from the grim part lala world, I push myself off the couch and shuffle my feet into the kitchen. With my brain feeling like mush, and body feeling depressed, I go into auto drive. Grabing a cup I too get some water and walk over to the breakfast nook, slumping down into one of the chairs.

John looked over his shoulder, back at Fabian. He sighed gently and pushed off the counter. He had to stop this. He was stronger that this. He had to push himself forward, even if just for a temporary amount of time. He had to ignore the past and just stay put together. He walked over to the chairs and sat down across from Fabian and took in a deep breath.

When John sits down infront of me, I snap out of auto mode with a couple blinks and a slight shake of the head. "Are you ok?" I ask him, takeing a sip of my water. Moving my hand to my hair I push a loose strand back to were it belongs.

"Yeah, are you?" John asked gently as he looked into her eyes with sympathy. These last few months were some of the most painful, and he knew she felt it too.
