I am a bit worried about these statements that the change won't happen if the "majority" doesn't want it and how 51% doesn't count as a majority. Because 34% seem even less like a majority to me, so wouldn't it be even more unfair to let them "win"? Especially since they wouldn't even reach 50 percent if you added the "maybe" votes to them...

But then again, there's still time left, we'll see how this whole thing is going to work out. :)

I'm actually on the fence with this (ie: I don't fully disagree, but I don't fully agree with you either), but I wanted to let you know about this saying (I'm honestly not sure who first said it, but it's pretty famous):
"You can please some of the people all of the time.
You can please all of the people some of the time.
But you cannot please all of the people all of the time."
I'm sure that every member on here could find something about CS that doesn't please them ^^; in this case... well... it's pretty obvious that there's nothing that can be done that will please everyone XD if we keep the lines in any way (whether we can switch between the two or whether equimagine's lines will just not be replaced), then there will still be plenty of members who will be upset about those lines staying on because they don't want to see lines that are associated with art theft. But if we remove equimagine's linearts, then there will be people who will be upset because they loved how the designs looked on the original lineart, etc.

i also think that some think that the new lines look boring (not my opinion) and they collect/horad these lines because they dont look 'boring' some might lose interest in the horses/ponies if the line art was changed

It looking not as clear or whatever is just how it is, it should stay that way. How would you like it if you made a pet and then down the road someone changed it because they thought it looked crappy? I know I would hate it. It should stay the way it is, that is all I am saying. And if you look at teh percentages of the voting, yes there is a majority that wants to mix everything up but there is a LOT of people who do not want to change the lines.

please, you have got to keep in mind most of these horads are formed because of the lines, change them and the point of the horad will be lost, these people may have traded rares for uncommons and so on in other words overpaid for pets simply because of their lines, its very inconsiderate just to get rid of them. i know like some have said that people should have pets for their designs but everyone had their own likes and dislikes,

Honestly, how many users on this site have a hoard of pets based on equimagine's line-arts? Her pets have low demand, and I understand why those who do love her pets will be upset if the lines are changed, but as it stands now, the facts are that there are more users who want a transformation than those who don't.

Also, why should the project not be done to please only a minority of users? Isn't that more inconsiderate than doing something because a majority of people want it?

Sure, there are "a LOT" of people who want the old line-arts to remain unchanged, however, there are even more who do want the project done. Again, why do something to please a minority?

The reasoning for the project is not because equimagine's line-arts are seen as "crappy". It's for a number of reason, and sure, some people voted "yes" because they prefer the updated equines to the originals, but even so that's a matter of personal preference. It's okay for someone not to like a piece of art, if opinions are expressed politely.

there could allways be a re-release of the designs in the new lineart of the designs made but that would cause an argument in itself.

How would you feel if you took a very beautiful picture with a lot of emotion after studying for years to be a great photographer, then copyright it, then come to find out a website has used it without even asking, and even though they have the chance to take it off or replace it, they won't do it?
I know I would feel horrible.
And equimagine didn't make them herself, so she has no right to complain if the lines are being changed. Also, no one ever said the lines looked crappy, wherever did you get that from?

No one said it looked crappy. Equi gave her lines and designs to us, as all artists do when they make art for CS. This is not her personal art, this is art she made for CS as a whole. The 'revamp' [if you can even call it that] just took her original intention and made it that much more. It's still the same design.

I actually had quite a few hoards of her ponies and horses^^
(But I recently decided to ditch all my hoards, so I don't have them anymore)

Some people can still love them even if they're not wanted by the general =3
