At the sight of her sister weeping, Arabella's own eyes began to tear up and she wrapped her arms around her sister. "I know," she whispered, knowing it was about Aiden. "I miss him too. I miss him, so much." Her mind flew to the previous six months. Although they had been tense politically and socially, Aiden had helped Arabella to loosen up and find who she really was under all the gowns and lace. And now he's gone, she thought as tears began to run down her cheeks and fall on Serena's shoulder.

Serena carefully hugged her sister back, tears streaming down her face. She cried silently, still trying to hide her sadness like usually. He. Wasn't. Coming. Back. Aiden was gone. Gone. Serena knew it was improper to cry like this in public, but she was tired of hiding her sadness for all those years. She simply couldn't wait until she was all alone. Just every single mention of Aiden made her cry. Serena was happy to have Arabella at this point, 'cause she knew KC wouldn't help her at the moment. Not that she blamed him for it, but still...

"Just let it out Rena," Arabella said between sobs. "It's not going to do you any kind of good to hold all this in." She held her sister tighter and, mixed in with the heart wrenching grief, she was somewhat happy now. I've reconciled with Serena and Patch is, she thought, then stopped herself. Another thought had passed through her head. There's still Tristan to deal with, she thought angrily, vowing in her head not to let him near her older sister tonight.

Serena made sure she held her sister close as she cried, at this point she didn't even care about everything else. She kept crying for a few more minutes before she sat up again and wiped her eyes, looking at Arabella for a moment. "Can I speak to you?" she asked softly, biting her lip. "In private? I think you'll be the only one to understand." She just had to tell somebody about the KC-issue she had to deal with at this moment, and knew Tristan wouldn't be the person to discuss that with.

Arabella sat back a bit, slightly surprised by her sisters request. She smiled warmly. "Of course you can," she said, still holding Serena's hand. She looked around the room; the food had not yet been brought out. "I'm sure they won't mind if we disappear for a few minutes. Where would you like to talk?"

Serena stood up as she held Arabella's hand. "Just follow me." she said quietly, before she turned to the other royals. "Excuse us." she said quietly, before she walked out of the diningroom with Arabella, holding her hand to make sure her sister would follow. She walked over the hallway for a moment before she sat down in one of the giant windowsills, patting next to her for Arabella to sit down.

Arabella followed her sister dutifully out into the hallway. She sat beside her sister on one of the plush cushions that filled every one of the big windowsills. The window Serena had chosen was one of Arabella's favorites; in the day it boasted a beautiful view of the town below them, but now, other than a few torch lights, the town was dark. She looked up at her sister. "What would you like to talk about?" she asked smoothing her navy dress.

Serena bit her lip as she tried to find the right words, staring at the floor for a moment. "Kaleb." she said softly, looking at her sister. "I know I am not a person to bother others with my problems, but it is tearing me apart." she said quietly, waiting for her sister to respond, or to give her a gesture it was okay for her if Serena told her.

"Serena when are you going to learn that sometimes it's better to tell people what's wrong?" Arabella asked, regarding her sister with a sympathetic smile. Again she picked up her sisters hands and squeezed them lightly. "Tell me everything you need to get off you're chest."

"You remember the moment my engagement with Zerrick was announced?" she asked quietly, looking at her. "When KC made such a scene about it? You probably now understand he didn't make the scene because his brother had to marry. We were together back then. Secretly, of course." Serena frowned, just deciding to tell everything she had hidden for so long. "The months after I was depressed, I think you can remember that also." she added, pausing as she stared in front of her. "I was never depressed about the marriage, only about the fact KC had decided he didn't want to talk to me anymore. It went like that for the past year, I... I was just so happy when I saw him again at the ball. We spoke, and it was nice to be with him." she paused. "But since we're engaged-" Serena shook her head quietly. "He made a stupid deal with me. Of course I said yes to his offer because it would make him happy, but the deal is tearing me apart already..."
