I understand your point, Tyr, but the current pony lineart does not line up with that picture except in a few areas, while at least one of equimagine's linearts match a photo perfectly.

I, personally, am also for the locking of replies to this thread. It's ridiculous and shouldn't need to be done, but the offending and name calling is getting the site nowhere but in chaos.

Also, could a staff member please tell me why all of my replies to this thread have been deleted, even my first post in which I stated why I was against the transformation? I've changed my mind since then, of course. My reasoning was simply because I liked the nostalgic feel of the old horses. I do not think (though I could be wrong) that I have been rude or disrespectful, so if someone could answer this for me, I'd appreciate it, as I do not understand why my replies are considered inappropriate while there have been others which are clearly unnecessary have simply been edited, or even left untouched. Thank you in advance.

To those who are complaining that the "tracing" is made up, equimagine herself admitted to the mistake. I think that should be enough proof for you. But that's just my opinion.

I sincerely hope CS goes through with the change--I'd love to see these beautiful designs on Yul's awesome lines--which are better in my opinion, more in-line with the style of CS, and, perhaps best of all, not traced!

TGenie, I can assure you that for this overlay all I did was scale up the lineart. I think it's the most damning and clearly shows there's an issue.

I would be happy to give you the links to the original if you wish to make your own overlay, too.

I think it shows a pretty compelling reason to vote for the change. Equimagine herself admitted some wrongdoing. This thread is not meant to be a court in which to put her on trial. She settled that with Tess to their mutual satisfaction. But these linearts of dubious history are still in use, and we have a way to clear up this matter for good, AND to make the horses on the site more uniform so that more items can be used on them. I think it's a win-win situation. :)

Uh, no??? Considering that the only thing that even lines up a little is the back. In some of equi's linearts they line up near perfect to the picture.

That is because whoever made the overlays stretched the lines so you can see how they match up...if you read this and think about it you will realize that the lines should not have to be altered to make them fit photos (;

the cs lines themselves have not been altered on bit for the popular overlays. however, in some recent one the original photos were moved around a bit.
and even if they aren't traced, though it's quite obvious some are, wouldn't it just be better to use lines that couldn't possibly defy copyright laws, be traced and kind of contradict cs's own rules? while it would be sad to see equi's lines go, i'd much rather avoid even further distress and possibly having them completely deleted if the owner of the photo wishes - i'm not saying they do or will, just that it's possible.

and i agree with ravenclaw, even equi herself admitted to at least some level of wrong-doing.

ninja'd a lot of oh well harpalyce put it wonderfully

I don't think your posts have been deleted, they just can't be searched for like regular posts and do not show up on your "view my posts" section. If you look at mine it will show the same.

I don't think that the thread can be locked without also locking the voting.

I discussed with myself and changed my vote to no.
These linearts are pretty nice and they should be like this. It makes them special, and it keeps the work of the artist on the site.
Replacing it seems wrong to me, since equimagine spent time on it to make it.
And it saves the staff a lot of work!
But keep the new draft lineart as special lineart, it is pretty!
Looking for CATS!

It seems that not many people are capable of giving their view without offending someone, repeating something, or posting links. If this is going to continue happening, the thread should be locked and only voting should be allowed.
You should be thankful that you're allowed both to choose and express your opinions. However, if you can't express yourself with tact and grace, don't be surprised when this option is taken away from you. The staff has done their best to keep arguing and slander to a minimum, but even they can only take so much.

I fully support this project. I believe that the site will benefit from it as will everyone else in the long run. The rarities will not change, nor will the designs or coloring. Equimagine will still receive credit for her work. Yulynhs name will remain upon her own lineart.

Do your best to chill out. (: I know some of you feel very strongly about this, but try to handle yourselves in a proper, adult manner. As for repeated things, I've read just about every single post on every single page, so if you feel the need to ask questions, I don't mind anyone shooting me a PM. Maybe it'll help a bit with the confusion. (:

/facepalm
I clearly don't know much about the site for being a late '08 member, heh...
Sorry for assuming they had been deleted. I rarely post in this section of the forums, so I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for clearing that up, though.
And I figured I'd just take a shot at asking about locking the topic. Oh well, it was worth a suggestion, I suppose.

^^
Just copy this and add in arguments to the side you pick.
That might help people who aren't sure yet?
Feel free to add anything you want! I'd love to see this list grow :)
To copy:

Pro change:
-The lines are traced and therefore should not be on the website.
-The changed examples are much more detailed and have a higher quality.

Con change:
-The old horses have a bigger variety and that shouldn't be destroyed.

- The old horses would no longer be uniquge.
-The items made for older horses would be useless
If I'm not answering, I'm probably at work. I usually get on in the late evening my time (listed timezone below)

Pronouns are they/them and you can call me Starfalling, M, or Morgan. I'm in Pennsylvania which is on EST (CStime -4)

I love trading, although I'm recently back from a long hiatus so I'm not fully up to date on demand. For any current event pets, I’ll only trade them away if I have a double, and I don't trade growing pets Real life got hectic and I somehow missed the whole month of May on here. Looking for all May pets, will keep WL updated as I go

I use bold a lot because it's easier for me to read, since you can't change other people's font size and being zoomed in constantly is annoying

My Approach ~
Yeah, it will neaten up archives, I think its a good idea c:
My only consern? World Record Hoards. There are hoards for 'Old horse Style'. If they are no longer allowed, im sure it would upset a few players, including the one currently holding the record.
