I'm hopping in here...........

So, lots of people have said that equi's horses were made by tracing off of images.
And people are saying that we should get rid of them since it was traced.
Ok, lets say they were changed into the new style( which I personally don't like)
Could you still make horses that were like equi's? It wouldn't be traced.

That would defeat the purpose (which I don't think is the actual one though) of fitting all the items on all the horses. C:

I thought talk about the overlays was okay as long as it didn't start an argument? :s

True, some of them are spot on, but the way you guys are doing most of these is really to the point of ridiculousness, stretching out the lines as to what -might- be traced or reffed if you tilt your head hard enough. I posted the link to prove a point.
No, I don't play CS anymore. Yes, I play on other sites. No, I will not sell my custom item or pet.

I'm afraid I don't really understand what you mean...they would just put equi's designs onto Yul's lineart (the current horse lines), then stop using the traced lines. No one has/will release any new designs on that lineart since equimagine quit and they were retired, but for the sake of uniformity and artistic integrity, the staff are now considering changing the old ones entirely. Hopefully that answered your question?

I don't know, Tyr, some of them look pretty undeniable to me. The foal lying down especially.

..but those dont look similar at all while equi's fit exactly?
And I thought it was ok to talk about them as long as you're not being rude? :)

The overlays are dumb, there is an extremely good chance that you can find a picture to match ANY drawing if you want to. Most of them I have seen don't match up exactly. Also some people on here have edited the CS lines to make them fit the pictures which only proves that people are just desperate to blame the artist for tracing.

Alright fair enough..but I agree with Aperture. And as far as I've seen, all of the overlays posted recently match pretty darn accurately.
Nevertheless, I'll drop the subject now.

Uh, no??? Considering that the only thing that even lines up a little is the back. In some of equi's linearts they line up near perfect to the picture.

Actually, it is possible to put items on the horses. I have. You just have to be creative c:

Besides, if this is the big issue besides the tracing, why not edit the items? There's much less of those than horses.

That is because whoever made the overlays stretched the lines so you can see how they match up...if you read this and think about it you will realize that the lines should not have to be altered to make them fit photos (;

I realize I said I'd drop it but I just..
That's not true at all. When Equimagine was tracing the photo, who's to say she didn't stretch or skew the photo? Another common thing tracers do is select individual parts(like legs or the head) and rotate them before tracing over it so it appears different.
