I can't really even see it in the Rainbow Mane, but the others are similar.
Whether you can see it or not,
Equimagine herself admitted to tracing them all! Be in denial all you want. It was confirmed years ago.
Why do you think Equimagine is no longer doing horses for ChickenSmoothie!?

But I don't see it as art theft. I don't really see photos as art... At least not those photos.
And I mean "just horses" as in they're not unique. You could look at any horse and see those poses.

Yeah... Horses have just about the same anatomy, so of someone draws them in some sorta pose, they all look quite similar.
If that Rainbow mane is art theft, then I may as well go search for a bit and I'll find ALL my past drawings art theft. :T

I agree with you completely.
A running horse is a running horse. Do you know how many pictures of running horses that there are out there? Millions. Every picture of a running horse can't be considered art theft, because they all have the same anatomy, basically.

While I agree that a skilled artist can draw a horse and have it look similar to photos, unless the image was traced, it won't be able to be overlayed cleanly onto any photo, no matter how you stretch and skew it. Equimagine's horses are all able to be overlayed pretty cleanly(some completely perfectly) over the photos she traced. There is no question as to whether or not she traced them.
Also, even if you don't personally consider photos to be art, that doesn't mean they aren't copywrited and owned by someone. Let me put it this way: if someone doesn't consider, say, a story or a song to be an art form, is it okay for them to steal it and claim it's theirs? If the answer is still yes to you, you may need to reevaluate how you see art in general, or at the very least, learn to respect artists of all forms.

Right. All that was overlaid was the Rump of the horse.
I have no idea if copying a Rump is art theft, but OK, so I if used the same Words as someone else's story, then I'm accused of art theft as well? o3o

Guys, chill - it's when the lines match up to past a certain degree that it's art theft - for example, the appaloosa foal. All of it's lines matched up, perfectly, therefore it is extremely probable (especially since she admitted it, and it's on the front page of the thread) that it was traced. I am certain that you could find other pictures of other foals lying down, and they would not line up perfectly, and it would not be considered art theft. Obviously you can't copyright a pose, but that doesn't mean you can't copyright a photo of a horse in a specific pose - there'd be no need for copyright, then - and I'm sure people are proud of those photos, or else they wouldn't have posted them on the internet for other people to see (and given how many of them belong to breeders and so on, the chances of them being copyrighted are pretty high)

Excuse me, but how can you be so ignorant. Don't see photos as art. It takes time and hardwork to learn a skill like photography, let alone editing for photography.
And no, it's not the same. You might see those poses, but they aren't all going to be exactly the same. That would be like saying you could pose a slender female white person in a standing position and they would all be exactly the same, with none being unique because they have the same basic anatomy. Your arguments are flawed, terrible, and insulting to artists.

The main horse lineart can be cleanly overlayed(I've seen it myself) by selecting certain places of the horse and rotating them individually, which is probably what she did when tracing it.
You did see the other overlays though, right? Particularly the foal?
Also, you could call it art theft or plagiarism, but either way you're stealing something someone put a lot of work into making and that's not okay.
