Most had very little demand other than mega rares such as the Rainbow mane, the Roadkill PPS and the Buckskin PPS, and many people flat out refused to accept them in trades.
If you tried to trade a Equi horse for a Malk wolf, fox or cat of the same date and rarity, you'd probably get turned down quite a bit.
I only commented on the beginning of this topic to leave my feedback on the subject and my vote, but I think I need to chime in here again.
I have nothing against equi, but the art theft thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I am for the change, but I hoard the Egypt horse litter of equi because of their design
(and yeah I like horses but that is besides the point) and never stopped hoarding them. I think that the change is for the better since the designs we saw so far look marvelous on the new lineart and improved in my view. I don’t think I suddenly will stop hoarding them when my hoard pets change, because I have faith in the artists here and their skills. I think the change is for the better of the site. People need to think not about themselves but for the well-being of chickensmoothie and that the site does not get in trouble.
That's one of the main reasons I'm on the 'yes' side as well- not only would there be that constant worry of the site getting slapped with a DCMA complaint and having to pull the lines regardless, but I think CS would loose a little something in my eyes if it allowed personal feelings to get in the way of what is
right. I admit, I WILL be sad to see the shelties go- they really are far too adorable, and I do love mine- but there's just no guarantee that they are original art work when we've seen how much of the other work has been traced.
It's quite possible (and rather sad) that we simply haven't found the traced picture yet, and we may never find it.
I think by this point, with some of the original photographers having been contacted, we can't just bury our heads and ignore the problem until it goes away. It won't, until something is done about it.
(and I also just really want to see the kingfishers in amazing new arts ahlsaffd)
