I never said it was you. I posted before several others to say that I wasn't butting in and saying "this is a fact and nothing else you guys say is true." No. And yet do these people read my post explaining that it was a generalization based on what I've seen on my two years on CS? Nooo. That's two hard! Attack the person who doesn't share your opinion instead! Like 3 or 4 times after I posted.
I am not changing my vote, I'm a firm yes. But honestly no one here has the foggiest idea of how to be polite and that doesn't work well when I have a bad temper. I should just leave.
But gosh, can't a person make a pint without becoming a martyr?
    It's good to be back.

For myself, having the old designs on the new lines would make them shoot up in value to me. :3 The equimagine horses were ones that I collected solely for the sake of a complete collection (except for my one Quarter Horse hoard), but the Yulyhn horses are ones that I enjoy far more. There are probably a fair number of people who feel the same way, so while one group's interest in the pets might drop with the change, other people's interest would very likely rise significantly. It's impossible to predict at this point which side would have the bigger influence on total demand on the horses, but from the poll it seems there are more people who would like to see a change than those who are against it, so my guess is that demand would rise a small amount overall with individuals possibly showing larger effects one way or the other, depending on how well the designs transferred over.

Speaking of the transfers, I was asked about 15 pages ago about how closely the conversions would follow the originals, but I had to leave before I could answer. A couple of others answered already, but I'll add my own $0.02 as well. :3 The designs would probably be copied over fairly closely to the original, but strong consideration would be given to the 'spirit' of the original as well. The wave pony is an excellent example (image nabbed from someone's signature):

It's easy to see that the design isn't a carbon copy of the original, which lacked a lot of detail and was rather difficult to identify (when that one came out, equimagine had to confirm it was meant to be a wave, as I recall). The updated version has more details, cleaner design, and is overall probably closer to equimagine's vision for that pony's design than the original. ^^

Question: Why is this such a big deal now? The alleged theft happened like 4 years ago.. and it was supposedly handled already. Why is this passionately being debated 4 years later??

Question: If the alleged art theft is supposed to effect our decision, why didn't Tess bring it up?? Why didn't she inform us about it and ask us? It obviously affects her... Have you even considered that she is handling it and wanted us to base our opinion on the uniformity and the items? hhmm Isn't that EXACTLY what she said?

    The staff have always kept the whole thing hush-hush. A lot of us have always been pretty pissed about it, it's just this new project gives us a chance to express that.

Question; Can you honestly say that if this was Malk's art... or the Cerberus.... or the Slephnir.. that you would respond the same way?? Be honest..

    Being honest? Yes. No matter the artist, traced art is traced art.

Yeah yeah.. their lineart is a different species.. blah blah blah.. It doesnt matter.. For most of you, you would be royally upset if they changed it.
    Not if they were traced we wouldn't.

Thank you for your response. It was honest I believe and simple... and no bashing..

I gotta love a drama free to-the-point response.. Makes me wanna vote however you voted. :P

What about the items that looked like they were designed to fit the old line art?
When I was browsing the item archive searching for stuff to add to my wishlist I noticed this item-
Image Which looks as if it were designed to fit the old line art. Is it(and any others there might be, since I am hunting through that many items) going to be changed to fit the other line arts? Or does it already do that? I don't have the item so I can't check myself.

Bless this post. I also support the change. There have been several Equi designs that I enjoyed, but I've never been particularly fond of the older horse lines in comparison to the newer lines. In my case, I would feel more inclined to keep my horses(many of which are currently in an enormous horse trading group that never even gets touched when people trade with me)

Her second horse and pony linearts are perfectly fine, and will not get the site shut down.

The first set is enough reason the photograph owners will need.

Well, I'm suggesting we remove the traced ones, but I see no reason to remove the others.

@Fawnhawk
Nobody is attacking you, I'm sorry you feel that way. It's just that what you are saying is a little hypocritical.

@Atwood
Thanks for the answer.
If this does go through hopefully the replicas will all be as well done as the examples.

Point here: The owners of the photographs have apparently already been contacted. If anything is going to happen, it's going to happen before they finish converting all of the horses. So if they have a problem with it, horses will get taken down. Changing over won't solve that problem, unless they have all of the horses converted already. Arguing for or against the change because of the traced line-arts doesn't really hold a point anymore. Either the people will have a problem and CS will get in trouble and have to remove the horses, or they won't and CS won't. Or it could be similar to the Warrior Cats, where the people are okay with it so long as nothing new is made with those images. But arguing about it or voting because of it will change nothing. (And with that said, I know people will still vote because of that.)

Exactly this.
Please people.
It's alright to have an opinion, it's great to have one in fact! But you have to look at this reasonably and choose what is best for CS as a site, not what would make you the most happy.

I mean, Emaginiques[I probably spelled that wrong xD] are not my favorite pet, but I still like them. Their just an example of how Chicken Smoothie itself has grown and change. But just because the site has changed and some lines have changed doesn't mean that the lines have to change, does it? I value the old line art horses more than the newer lines- and not just because of the dates. Their unique. Sure, I don't go around saying every second, "I LOVE EQUI'S LINES!!!!" But that doesn't mean I don't like them. But I do, in fact, like the new Draft Line arts.

I totally agree!
