In all honesty guys we should be looking at this in a manner that asks: "What's good for CS as a site?" not "What would make ME happy?"

Exactly. I feel as if the arguments against the change, no offense meant to anyone who argues against it, are more self-centered, describing their love for the look and how much they'd miss the lineart, etc. I haven't seen much, if anything, argument-wise that focuses on the good of the CS website as a WHOLE.

And anyways, no one gave a crap about the old lineart before this new idea was preposed. And all of a sudden equid's lineart horses are everyone's favorite.

I've always loved the original horse lineart. It's always been one of my favorite. They were made that way, so just leave them that way. People traded (possibly a lot) for some of them, so why let all of that go to waste?

They've been using the new lineart for awhile. Maybe they should just start releasing the new draft horses and leave our old pets the way they are.

What's wrong with wanting to be happy? To me, the whole point of this site is loving the lineart and pets for the designs (including lineart), and then trying to trade for them. If someone's favorite pet or lineart is changed, then it could take away some of their love for the pet, and the site won't be as fun for them anymore.

I personally love this idea. I'm excited to see how all the horses will translate onto the new lines. Also I'm not quite sure why everyone is making a big fuss over equimagine's traced/referenced/coincidencial lines now. What's in the past is in the past plus I really don't see a problem with referencing, the anatomy of a horse can sometimes be quite hard on your own.

I agree with this part. (And the original post as a whole, really) After I posted about I might like the drafts, I started reading some of the comments and .... eeesh. o_O

Do you love it so much that you are willing to risk losing all the horses with that particular lineart?

Sure, why not. Because I'm not concerned about a risk that doesn't exist right now. If this was a big valid risk, something Tess was worried about, we wouldn't have a choice in the matter. And they wouldn't be considering keeping some of the horses in the old line-art. Because if it was an issue and they had to remove the horses now or risk getting in trouble, keeping even one horse in that line-art would cause trouble. I trust Tess in this. I also trust that they're smart enough to have back-ups of the images, so if they're forced to remove them immediately, they still have the designs saved and can then convert them onto the new line-art. So they wouldn't be lost.

That's the problem: the risk does exist now. Someone has contacted the photographer of the foal, and if they see the lineart and get upset over it, it could mean bad things.
That's really selfish. Just a little instant replay from what it looks like from a lot of others' eyes?
I like this lineart better and if I don't get what I want then you guys can't have what you want either.
Reminds me of one of Aesop's fables, but I won't go into that.

To quote you, "Cut it out and read my stinkin' post before you attack me."
I never said people can't get what they want if I can't get what I want. I never even hinted at that, and have no idea where you got it from. In fact I very pointedly made it clear that if the trouble does come up, then the horses can just be converted then, and the issue would be solved. So... Please, tell me what part of what I said would give you that impression? And while you're at it, tell us what the issues with the second equimagine line-art are. Because I'm still wondering.

after reading many of the posts, and figuring out that Equimagine has plagerized that lineheart, it would be better for CS to change it to avoid being sued, and loosing the entire game.

I think it would be selfish of people to hold on to a virtual graphic forever and not care that Cs might be sued, nobody will be able to play anymore, and that Tess and Nick have invested quite some money into making this, and they might get into financial/emotional trouble for something that a single oerson couod have caused.

(not trying to be offensive, sorry if it sounded that way!)

I siggest that people know what has happened, what can happen, and what is happenong before posting their opinions so sharply and critisizing others.

EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN OPINION, OTHERS SHOULD RESPECT THAT!

Question: Why is this such a big deal now? The alleged theft happened like 4 years ago.. and it was supposedly handled already. Why is this passionately being debated 4 years later??

Question: If the alleged art theft is supposed to effect our decision, why didn't Tess bring it up?? Why didn't she inform us about it and ask us? It obviously affects her... Have you even considered that she is handling it and wanted us to base our opinion on the uniformity and the items? hhmm Isn't that EXACTLY what she said?

The staff have always kept the whole thing hush-hush. A lot of us have always been pretty pissed about it, it's just this new project gives us a chance to express that.

Question; Can you honestly say that if this was Malk's art... or the Cerberus.... or the Slephnir.. that you would respond the same way?? Be honest..

Being honest? Yes. No matter the artist, traced art is traced art.

Yeah yeah.. their lineart is a different species.. blah blah blah.. It doesnt matter.. For most of you, you would be royally upset if they changed it.
Not if they were traced we wouldn't.

If someone only collects the pet because of the line art and not the actual design....well I've never met anyone like that.
If Tess were to change the dog line art, an all my 09 URs were changed, I'd still love it and collect it.

Art theft is still art theft. Equi did something that's very wrong.
Hey, you know what, if she can trace photos and keep her art up, why don't I do the same thing? If the staff won't follow rules and can hide their transgressions, I'll do the same. Enough hypocrisy!

@pretty much everyone in front of this post
Why don't people get that only her first linearts were traced/referenced ! (along with the drafts and a unicorn)
Her second horse and pony linearts are perfectly fine, and will not get the site shut down.

The first set is enough reason the photograph owners will need.
