To everyone saying the value would drop if they were put on the new lines:
What happens to the people who would value them more in the new lines then the old, traced lines? Like me? Just curious, because I know quiet a few people who would value the new lines over the old ones.

Kitra Grace wrote:no its not. These old lines are hard to come by today and the newer ones are found with absolutly everyone, I am seriously not kidding. I think this change would decrease the value of the ponies substantually.

Sighs
Again, they are not hard to come by. I have like 300 sitting in my account, if not more. No one wants them because they have no value at all. You can't decrease the value any more, it's already pitifully low. The new, improved designs will improve the value if anything, because the new designs are a lot cleaner and more appealing.

I'm really unsure because I love old version of horses and ponies... but I had to give "YES!" because I'm absolutely in love into new version of Draft Horses! ♥

Lets see, there's the tess horses, the Malk horses, Equi v1 horses, Equi v1 ponies, Equi v2 horses, Equi v2 ponies, Unicorns, Zebras, Equi donkey, Yu horses, Yu ponies, Yu donkeys, and if you wanna count it the cs store seahorses. Thats extremely confusing, it's 12 different sets of linearts for one type of animal. Change them, make it look more uniform, take away all the unneeded linearts. Plus, how many people complaining remember Malk's lineart change? That was a big one.

...Right, now that I've gotten my Classics nerd on, maybe we can find a better analogy. c:

To me, this is like a historic house. A landmark that all the townspeople love. However, it's shaky on its foundations, there are termites in the wood, and some of the old beams are being eaten away by 'rot'. (All of these blows are the many reasons for changing the lineart - aesthetics, sharing items, the question of if something has been traced or not, etc.) Now we have a choice - either do nothing and just hope the house doesn't fall down around our ears, or we can call in some builders to fix the problem.

The builders won't be able to do an exact replica. But they'll be able to get the house much safer to live in, and much more beautiful to boot. It just won't be quite the same.

We will still be able to look at photographs of what the original house was like. People will remember what it is like. People can talk about it and share those photographs with others. It's just that we decided to repair the house so we could live in it more comfortably.

I think that's entirely acceptable for a house that we don't have to worry about. c:

The problem with your house analogy is that we don't know the house has termites or is rotted... We simply heard a creak and know it is old.. and we want to go build a whole other house???? Based on what?

Furthermore.. We don't own the house. The owner of the house has simply asked us if we want to redecorate or not.. and people are beginning to panic and ask for another house altogether.. just "in case" there are termites.. .. and just "in case' something rotted... there is a total lack of information on the foundation of the house.. so let it go..

Just let the owner know if you want it to be redecorated... It's really that simple..

I think it's a wee bit more than just a creak. It's more like I stepped the wrong way in the attic and ended up with one foot in the upstairs bathroom:

In any case, we have the 'landlord' offering to fix it. I don't see why we shouldn't take our landlord up on that offer. c:

Didn't equi make the second linearts BECAUSE of the complaints???
So why don't we just switch the really old ones to the newer (the second set of lines for horses and ponies) equi lineart? And create new lines for the traced unicorns and drafts.
That way there will be no more traced lines, and we still get to keep the lines of hers that she didn't reference/trace.

I know someone will be unhappy regardless... it just really hits other equine collectors and myself more than the other players. I think the people who really love the site equines and all their quirks are the ones voting no and all the people who focus on other species or just on the site overall are for the changes. And since the equines are not the most popular species, the minority that loves them is going to be overruled by the indifferent majority and it just kinda stinks.

exactly. I am personally par tof this minority and I feel that this change is just very bad for the small group that loves these guys. I hope that there will be exceptions because I would hate to totally lose one of my favorite CS line arts.

last time I checked, equimagine is retired and we cannot continue to use her linearts, so switching *back* won't work
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

I agree we should just make completely new lines to satisfy everyone that look more interesting that the new ponies.

That would not solve the problem as said on the front page.

Which one? The item problem? I rarely use items on my horses anyway. But if they, instead, made a brand new set of horses and ponies to replace just the old Equimage (if the copyright laws really are in the way) that would be a good compromise for those who don't care that much for Yulynh horses and those who care about the tracing problem.

The second set of lines also had *issues*.
    It's good to be back.
