As I said a couple hundred pages ago: I love the old linearts. I only think they should be changed for copyright reasons. I think it isn't fair to all the people who like them to just change them for uniformity. I look the idea that was proposed, but it doesn't help with the copyright problems…
Really, I'd just miss the Buckskin PPS and the other PPS's. Other than that I wouldn't be devestated. The Buckskin is adorable, but of it were transferred to the new lineart, well, it wouldn't be the same.

@nickjr: Bananas was an actual staff, Tess was showing how it worked to the artist (I want to say Tyr, but I'm not sure. I'm probably wrong.) and used bananas as the example, and they kept it.

Tess mentioned that the special horses like the rainbow mane, buckskin and dice pps, and roadkill pps may stay the same or get their own unique lineart. I don't know if their new linearts will be as cute, but having something even more unique for them would be amazing imo.

I don't understand... Why should they be changed for copyright reasons?

I know that xD I meant that I was remembering that event since that pony had been set up months in advance :3

Would you, as a mod, have any knowledge of how well the recreations would be made. I mean, there would need to be a uniformity in all the copys right? I'm just kinda worried that if this does go through there will be a few less-than-stellar remakes released. (the ones in the first post are nicely done)

Well, that's sort of a matter of opinion, isn't it? I mean, everyone has different tastes so maybe you'll personally find one particular color-in "less than stellar", but it may not reflect the overall quality of the remake. I imagine all the remakes will be similar style and quality of the examples shown, but everyone will have to decide for themselves how "well" each one looks. I have high hopes myself, I trust the CS artists to do the beautiful designs justice on a non-traced lineart :)

I voted yes, because I LOVE the examples on the first page (drafts especially), I think it would be less confusing for new players to have some uniformity, I honestly like Yul's lines better, and also because I dislike the ambiguity of the alleged tracing. It's an all-around winning situation for me, even if I'll miss the buckskin and Roadkill PPS the way they are.

Oh, okay, I didn't see that in the first post… I'd love to see a different and new (yet somewhat similar to the old) lineart for them, and the could do the conversions on it? But that may be too much work since they may have already started.
@nickjr: okay, I didn't understand what you meant by that, thanks for the clarification. :)
@lillylove90: They would have to be changed because of legal matters. That's why they do it. Apparently they looked a little too similar to certain pictures so people are upset, and have been upset, which factors into why they asked if we wanted the change.

I beg to differ.
I honestly don't think the quality of remakes will be a 'matter of opinion'. Not when there is an original to compare it to. It's pretty easy to tell if a design is well copied or not by how much it resembles the original.
Not every single line art of equi's is traced, try to remember that.

I have two questions.

1. Will the rarity of the equimagine horses change with the lineart?
2. Will the items be converted?

tracing, heavily referencing - however you want to call, to put it simply, art theft. you can argue they aren't traced, and i'm not demonizing equi or saying she had bad intentions when creating the lines, but the thing is that there is some strong evidence that suggests art theft.
cs could get in trouble if things escalate and/or the owner of the photos finds the website, and although i wouldn't count on the site being shut down, the images could very easily simply be deleted leaving us with nothing.

1. No.
2. Do you mean the equimagine only items? If so, yes. That's said in the first post, I believe.
