The one Achilles heel of the plan to switch between linearts, as perfect as it may seem, is that the dodgy linearts are still in use.

It's quite a complicated little situation. I will be sad to see the equimagine linearts go but I think that's far preferable to the risk. And even if there was no risk about copyright holders getting angry, I think that on a moral level, there has been some wrongdoing, so it's time to fix that wrongdoing instead of letting it slide.

We all make mistakes. What separates the good from the bad is what we DO with those mistakes. We can either accept it and be unapologetic for our wrongdoing, or we can seek to make it right. I think switching the linearts help to make it right. c:

I just have one concern. Tess said, "The unicorns and donkeys will also be updated, but the unicorn lines are not finished yet."
Does anyone know what the old and new donkey lines are?

(I used the search thing to search the topic and didn't find anything about this.)

Yes they will be changing as well onto new lines.

As far as I know there would be a separate poll for the Zebras, and they would go onto unique Zebra lines, but I could be remembering wrong so don't take my word for it.

Ah, yes, the proverbial elephant in the room in this situation (Am I using this right? English isn't my first language.) I suppose we're just looking at theoretical fixes at this point, even if they seem unlikely. I guess we're just trying to find a compromise in a situation in which there isn't a great one. I voted no at first but now I'm at a maybe, after learning about this issue with copyright.

There's still a third of the CS population not happy about changing the lines despite knowing about this referencing issue (or they simply didn't read the first post before voting). Do you guys think this update from Tess will help decrease that number? Will this make the Maybe/No people happier to say Yes/Maybe?

I see some questions, answers, and arguments being repeated over and over and over in this topic. If there is anything that you're unsure of, please just read through the topic first to see if what you're looking for has already been covered.

We have noticed that it seems like the main concerns so far are about a few favorite pets like the PPS ponies and the rainbow mane changing. If the opinion remains divided then we may re-vote with new conditions such as keeping the PPS ponies and have special line edits for things like the rainbow mane horse so that it still looks good on the new lines.

I am going to stand firm on this and say no, unless there would be an option to switch between linearts. I don't care if the items don't work. I like the horses the way they are. The pets don't look the same on the new linearts to me.

Honestly, if Tess felt the need to make this change because of the art theft I wouldn't have a problem with it.
However she's asking for our opinions, and I'm against it.
It looks like ALL the stages will have to be redone due to the 18th boxes... that's a lot of work.
It'd probably mean not very many monthly pets for a long time.
If I could have it my way only the obviously traced stages would be switched. Because I really do love the diversity of CS.

Why would this effect the monthly outcomes? They can always have guest artists using Yulynh's lines. :3
