If the lines are redone, we will have;
- horse lines
- pony lines
- new draft lines
- new unicorn lines
- new donkey lines
- maybe new zebra lines

That's a lot of variety!

I don't really understand this part. If the lines are updated, does this mean they'll use all these new lines every so often, or just to replace the old lines?

We'll keep Yulynh's current lines, and all of the new things will be added. So there won't be new horse or pony lines, but everything else yes.
If that's what you mean?

Yes. So it'd basically be like the squids or lions? (The new lines pop up every so often or in an event)
I stopped caring about this being perfect on mobile so enjoy!

CAN WE PLEASE GET BACK ON TOPIC!?
We're supposed to be debating on whether to keep the line art or not,not whether if Equimagine was using art theft. We've already sorted this out anyway!!

THAT'S WHAT WE'RE DOING.

Debating on whether to keep the lineart or not.
My reason is to not keep the lineart, for art theft reasons.
Debate about art theft arises, which still links back to debating on keeping the lineart or not.

Atwood said herself talking about whether it's art theft or not is ALLOWED.

The 'evidence' for the adult equi lines being traced isn't very good.
Anything can be made to look traced

NOT ACCUSING THE NEW LINES OF BEING TRACED AT ALL JUST MAKING A POINT

Dude if you can't accept the evidence of the lines being traced then I don't really know what to say to you??

Lets put it this way, what would you prefer? CS changing the equi lines, or CS getting sued and possibly shut down because a photographer has found out that one of their pictures was traced and is being used on a for-profit site?

How about you go back and read that bold little part of my post hun? I'm not denying her tracing c:
CS is not in danger of being shut down because if it was there wouldn't be a vote. If it was an issue like that Tess would just fix it.
The adult horse lines don't look traced, it's a common pose, as stated before. -those are the ones that are seen on the site now, and are the ones that would be changed.
I'm fairly sure that tess has checked to see if CS could be shut down because of the lines, she owns the site and I assume she's been responsible enough to check already, and that means it's probably not a major concern.

Even if CS isn't in danger, what about doing what's right? If these linearts are kept, then why can't I trace photos and post it in the art board.

I have extremely mixed feelings about this. In some ways I would love to keep the old line arts because I like many of them and I think some of the line arts are just plain adorable! But in some ways I would absolutely love to have the old horses and ponies and unicorns and zebras as new lines!! Just imagine! Maybe we could have even newer unicorns!!

For those who say that it's been four years and no one has filed a complaint...

It took over a year for Warrior Cats creators to find CS. With each year that passes, there's a greater chance of those photographers wandering into our corner of the internet and discovering those lines.

Also:
Atwood wrote:[snip]
CS wouldn't be shut down over the lines, but what could very easily happen if a copyright claim was made is that every single pet on the lines in question would have to be immediately deleted. No line change, no replacements, just zap so all you'd have is an error box in place of a pet. This could happen even if the lines weren't traced and simply resembled the photo, as with the grey horse photo, if they had enough evidence of "see, these people say it's traced and it looks close enough to me, so I'm pressing the suit and filing a DMCA on it".

Another site I go on had a DMCA complaint filed. The artists had 24 hours to replace the image, or worse legal stuff could happen (I can't remember the details since it's been... a year or so, I think). So yeah, the DMCA thing could easily lead to the loss of a whole bunch of images without warning.

Just throwing that out there. ^_^

But seriously. SERIOUSLY. Please! Why are we having this idiotic argument in the first place?
The main question on the front page wasn't about "art theft" or "accusations".
IT WAS ABOUT WHETHER OR NOT YOU THINK THE LINEART SHOULD BE CONVERTED.
If there really is an art theft issue, then LEAVE IT TO THE MODERATORS TO SORT OUT. MY GOSH.

-High fives you-
I vote.. both. xD I'll change my vote again within a few minutes, and change it again, and so on. because I really don't know. and I want to be definite. xD

If mods had a problem on us discussing about art theft, then they would tell us and delete our posts. They haven't.

But the art theft issue really isn't our problem - we're making this a whole world more difficult because we're trying to argue about among ourselves.

This. It shouldn't be our problems, but the mods..

Re: Equine Transformation Project - REMEMBER TO VOTE!

Postby Sunfang » Tue Mar 19, 2013 10:11 am

So, after having a while to rethink my decision, I switched my vote to 'yes'.

I love the Equimagine ponies. Especially the Galaxy, Dice, Billiard, and Buckskin litters. Before yesterday, I didn't know of the tracing allegations, and while I'd be sad to see the lines changed, this is one of the reasons I've changed my vote.

The other reason is because I find it frustrating when I'm trying to dress my Equimagine ponies. There are tons of items I can work with the current horse/pony lines, but it's difficult to finesse them on the older lines. At least for me it is.
And, ngl, kinda excited to see the designs upgraded on new lines. I was never too fond of the "ocean wave pony" in Tess's OP, but I really love it on the current Pony lines. Looks amazing!

Also, this would more than likely mean the Black Cat Pony Costume would be revamped. *u*

However, I do think that the Rainbow Manes and PPS pets should be shown before their conversion happens. A lot of people with the Rainbow Manes spent a lot of time, money, and pets getting just the right items for it, not to mention it's an "expensive" pet. I also know plenty of people who are withholding their vote or did not give an absolute answer because they are afraid of the changed for the List horses.

Anyway, end my nonsensical rambling.

I personally like to keep the old lineart. The designs just flat out look different on the old lineart and I don't think it has the same character as they do on the new lineart. It's not that either lineart is necessarily better but I think having the horse linearts the way they always have been is just the way to go. It seems like a lot of work to redo all the old designs and looking back they just aren't quite the same. It's kinda like how the 08 advent PPS pups are a bit smaller than others or how the BEG is a little small. Yeah it doesn't work as well for some items but it's the way they are. Personally I think we should keep what we have. And honestly I think it would be a lot more work to recreate every single design rather than just adjusting the few horse items there are.
Either way I'm sure we'll all live but I personally think that the old linearts are a part of CS history and I don't want to see them go.
Have a good day y'all.

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1708030&start=1580#p52625062

They're being discussed, not deleted, which means it's allowed. If it wasn't allowed, then they would tell us to stop, of which they haven't. Telling us to stop doing something that is allowed is pretty silly and a bit useless...

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1708030&start=1590#p52626178 Another useful post. It doesn't MATTER if it's exactly traced, even though the foal is traced.

You lot are making this too dramatic for something that nobody ever thought twice about before this topic arrived.

Looking at your join date you arrived after the entire drama went down. There were a lot of very upset people during the time that it all happened, but it settled down within a matter of a few months. So it really isn't a matter of no one caring until now, it's a matter of everyone gave had their outcries already and those of us that were thoroughly unhappy boycotted her pets.
