I just want to post a "thank you" to the people who keep calling this ridiculous/absurd/pointless/etc. Thank you so much for ridiculing what to a great many others is a wonderful idea. :/

Seriously, can we please have a more respectful discourse? (From all sides.) It's not fair to point at those who like the idea and say they're being mean/disrespectful if they say they dislike the equimagine linearts and then turn around and disrespect the idea of changing them with such language.

I would also like to point out that Tess obviously didn't think the idea was pointless or a waste of time or she wouldn't have already the work in to get it going and possibly implement it. (Like others have pointed out, she has graciously given us a voice and a vote on the matter.)

I don't really get all of this. I am just trying to explain this to myself as much as to everyone else. So, for example, if one of the kids in my class takes a picture of I don't know, a rabbit, and they show my class the picture and I borrow it and draw a rabbit that looks as much like the photo as I can, does that mean that I stole their art, or that I just drew their picture and had it. And we probably don't know the whole story. Maybe Equi knew the photographer or they asked or the picture was one that was free to use. And if they didn't actually trace it probably isn't exactly on-the-dot identical. Like when my art teacher wanted us to draw an angry hissing cat with an upside down reveal technique, that you have the partially covered upside down cat beside you and you draw it as you see it, revealing more once you are done. I drew it and my cat looked almost identical to the picture because I took my time and I wasn't drawing a cat, just bits of one and it came together. Probably if someone photocopied my cat it would look almost identical to the one I drew, and they may have thought I traced even though I didn't. So maybe it wasn't art theft at all that happened, just Equi finding a horse picture and, being a talented artist, drew an almost exact replica. I don't know. I am confused. Sorry if what I said is rude or makes no sense or breaks some rule.

I'm sure that there's just as many items will have to be fitted as designs would have to be copied, and there's four or five Equimage linearts that have to be taken into account. And any new items will have to have a version for the old linearts, when instead we could just copy the designs to the new lines once and not have to worry about it again.

I, like many others, like dressing up my pets, and I get frustrated with the fact that most items are fitted to the new lineart - which is perfectly alright, after all, the Equi horses are becoming a smaller and smaller percentage on the site, what with more new users adopting the currently unlimited supply of Yulynh lineart horses [I don't see them going in the near future]. As such, I can't expect the artists to keep including the Equi lineart in the item version to-do list, that's just unfair for them.

I know some people will miss the old lineart, but that's going to be the typical response. We don't know what we like until it's about to be "taken away", even if we've spent years covering them up or hiding them away. There's going to be a few outcomes that we like that might look strange for a few months, but after that, you're going to get used to it. And if you're afraid of letting go, save the pictures. Keep them on your computer and reminisce - maybe have a thread where all of the old Equi line horses are displayed, or something, just so that it'll be there when people want to look back [I know I've wished for one of those with the Malk owls and cats, it would have helped satiate my need to remember previous versions of things].

I look forward to the change. I can't wait to dress up my Camo horse and Unicorn hoards with the newer items, and I'll finally get to dress up my Rainbow Mane the way I want to. I would love to see all of the horses that I love, looking nice and uniform [more or less; I'm quite alright with the few stragglers, such as the Roadkill PPS and Zebras being oddballs]. I adore the new Draft lines [after the few minor edits mentioned earlier in this thread about the head and barrel being a little short], and I might get back into hoarding them, if we end up switching.

I don't think we would be losing part of CS's history, or Equi's name; Equi's name will still be on her designs, and she's in the retired part of the team page. We would still have her zebras and foal lines [Roadkill PPS], and her name will be on her designs. And if someone wishes to do the "Old Lineart Gallery" thread or whatever it would be - then do it! It sounds like it'd be greatly appreciated by the CS community as a whole. <3 Then, no matter what, people can look back at the progress and admire what we had before. As a member who joined just in time to see Equi's first litter on the site... I know it'd help me.

I voted yes not out of dislike for Equi or any of her designs - she was a very nice person, in the few interactions I had with her, and I usually don't have issues with designs unless they really hurt my eyes - but because I think change is good, no matter the complaints along the way. In the end, it'll make life easier for the artists and the users who dress up their pets, even though the market will be in turmoil for a while [which is a funny thing; it's just a lineart change, it's not a rarity or design change. It should not affect the value so much that it turns the entire CS economy on its head for any long period of time], but it will, in time, even out.

/This is a long ramble-y post. I apologize; I'm quite tired at the moment.

I agree whole-heartedly with this post. Thank you for stating what I could not word myself. I'm pretty sure that there's actually a thread somewhere, all jumbled and hiding, where you can still see the old owls and malk cats actually. I've found it once or twice. Nostolgia factor skyrockets every time I've come across it.

I think if they do change the linearts, the mane style should be the same on the new one. Ex: in the example picture, the buckskin pony's mane isn't the same. That's one of my favorite things about the equi. ponies is the mane. Like have the forelock in the eyes.

*is bad at explaining*
I'm still a definite yes. The old lines will be missed but everything will be more organized. However, I feel like the pps should stay the same.

-3B-, I just ...... completely agree. Thank-you for the awesome rambly view ^.^

Okay, so, no then.
Even though we have proof that the images are traced and stolen (LinkLinkLinkLink) I'm not allowed to takl about that and my post gets deleted.

I thought the point of this thread was to generate discussion ont he topic, not to delete any post that disagrees with mod standing. I haven't broken any rules. So the fact that so many posts including my own are getting deleted because is kinda, well, disgusting.

Great to know I'm not allowed to discuss the topic in a discussion topic. Equimagine stole those lines and EVERYONE knows it. Defending her adoptables and saying we should keep them anyway is absolutely not okay because CS doesn't have the rights to them because EQUIMAGINE NEVER HAD THE RIGHTS TO SIGN AWAY because they were STOLEN.
And honestly, for a site that 'takes art theft seriously,' this is absolutely awful. You are not allowed to say users can't steal but staff can.

The fact Equimagine took these is completely relevant and I honestly don't even care if I get warned for talking about it because it. is. not. ok.

This shouldn't even be up for debate. CS is not allowed to use this work because they don't have permission from the photographers. There's nothing to discuss.

CS items are a pain to work with. I swear the lines are smaller than a 1 pixel brush. As someone who does both colouring and item linearts, I can tell you right now that I would find it waaaaaay easier to recolour the Equimage horses/ponies onto the new lines than to redraw the plethora of horse items for the various Equimage lines.

I actually plan to volunteer for the recolouring if we get the go ahead, because it sounds like such fun, and I'm in a bit of a design rut at the moment. I have difficulty drawing items and they take a crazy long time. Colouring for this update would be neat and I'm really looking forward to it if I get the chance. So don't worry too much about the artists. I'm sure I'm not the only one hoping for a spot on this project if it gets the go-ahead.

I cannot agree with you. This is not a discussion topic, it's a topoc which we can vote on.
The fact that you say more and more that she stole the lines, talks that everyone makes mistakes.
