I'm all for continent or animal/culture rats.
I like Oddly's idea a lot, but copyright and all, y'know.

Oh wait, for Oddly's idea, maybe they could be fandom based instead of the characters themselves? c:
I've seen plenty of people who have characters that live in the Harry Potter {just for example} world, but are not the characters in the story.
Maybe we could do like that? c:

Ohh World Rat Day! I can't wait!!

I like both ideas too, but choosing animals that represent might be difficult, maybe like 2/3 animals per continent? Starting with southamerica that is one of the most biodiverse continent in the world :p

About the copyright, here at CS I see that if the chatacters are the artist interpretation ( like the recently released Alice in wonderland set) no copyright issues are raised...

However you decide to do it, I would love any of them, I want to celebrate World Rat Day!!

Actually, I think Alice in Wonderland is just old enough that the copyright for it has expired. Either way, I believe adoptables based off copyrighted characters are allowed on CS but in my opinion it wouldn't really feel as special to just copy the design of a rat from a book or movie rather than create something new that a person could really call theirs. I really love the idea of having a rat for each continent <3

The rats would, if we choose to use the theme I suggested, be the artists interpretations. It wouldn't be the exact replicate of the character obviously. It could even have (as a user suggested) like a scarf tying the character back to the theme.

Hope this is ok to post here. I made a rat lineart and I'm willing to do color ins! (edits are avalible)


Pm me if your interested in getting one or more of your ratties colored! Hopefully it'll help get my mind off stuff.
(I'll be coloring my rattie prism on it when I can as an edited example)
