I'd hate to see them changed. To have pets I've had for years on my account changed is upsetting and seems unnecessary to me. They are old retired linearts just leave them be. They're a part of CS history and to see it rewritten is sad. I don't think all the horses/ponys will look better this way which means were going to be losing some beautiful pets. Sad and dissapointing.

I did like the revamped equimagine ponies, they were super cute XD But I will admit it is really annoying when I am trying to make my groups and dress up the horses and I have nothing that will fit them...

I would love to see the Yulynh's lines being used for all the horses and ponies if only to be able to have all my items fit them This is an amazing idea Tess. I can't wait to see what the other new linearts will look like! I definitely am voting yes for the change. I like some of the ideas for some of the designs on equimagine's horses, but the lineart throws me.. I could see myself liking a lot more of the horses on the new lines cause they would all match.. <3

I like the new linearts. I think if all older horses were converted to the current lineart, I might like the old, "uglier" designs better. For example, thats top right design ._.

Here's the most obvious example of the tracing, imho.

I understand completely how an artist can get wrapped up in their art, and forget to credit a reference. It happens, it truly does. It doesn't mean that Equimagine is a bad person, it doesn't mean this needs to be a witch-hunt, et cetera, et cetera. It's just still an issue that needs to be brought to light.

For the most part, this tracing concept really bugs me. I know many artists who use realistic animals for their artwork. It's not called art theft. And no one should have rights to a picture of a horse honestly, because just because someone got lucky and caught an excellent shot of a horse, doesn't mean it's theirs alone to love. And I know plenty of artists who could see something once and recreate it later without having to copy it. So she liked their appeal. So do we. I don't think C.S would get shut down over it. Nor do I believe the art should go away.

But when I think about all the pets I have traded away, because I didn't like the old lines...
I would have to get all those anew, because I collect the Yulynh lines...that will be a pain. ^^

But I still like the new lines better, so I'm all in for the change. ^^

If this is what equimagine is getting accused of tracing then I don't get it. If I see a flower, and I draw the flower so that it looks close to the flower, that means i copied artwork?...can someone explain? I don't feel comfortable voting until I know more about the tracing thing.

There's a difference between referencing and tracing.

When you reference, you just use the image for a pose, but it is still your own. It's not considered art theft if you give proper credit to the reference. Tracing is actually drawing over the pictures.

Even if equi just referenced them, there was no credit given. But I think the linearts with the original pictures are a little to close to be just references.

For a website that is so heavy on preventing art theft, it would be good to get past this little blemish.

Drawing something that you observe yourself is perfectly fine. ^^ It's even okay to trace a picture you took yourself. The problem comes in when you trace or heavily reference a picture that somebody else took. Since the picture belongs to somebody else, you've stolen their artistic property.

Think of it like this. You sketch out the Mona Lisa and then show it to all of your friends. Did you draw the picture? Absolutely. But was it entirely your own original idea? No. Therefore, you could be accused of stealing the artist's ideas.

Now, I don't believe that Equimagine intentionally committed art theft, so please don't take it that way. However, the sources of her drawings are a little sketchy and I, personally, I think it would be best if all of the pets were transferred over if only to eliminate controversy.

So the unicorns would be on the horse lineart, just with Iike a beard or something? I LOVE the old unicorns linearts, and how their all different! I've been wanting get them, their like mah dreamies, but if they were on the horse LA with just a few edits, it'd look... Horrible. I might be open to a whole new unicorn lineart, but... /:
