If the donkeys are made to look like the new line art I think for me the would lose all appeal. Or are new donkey and unicorn line arts being made such as for the draft? In which case why? What is wrong with the old ones?

Equi's unicorns/donkeys might be unique or seperate but they're still traced. Tess and Malk's horses were not.

This tracing accusation really is a big issue. Chicken Smoothie does not tolerate art theft, so it rubs me a little wrong that something non-original is allowed to be such a big part of the site. I would like to hear from Equimagine herself, or at least have the issue put to rest, but I doubt that will happen.

If art theft is your main concern, also consider the issue with not only the Age of Fire dragons, but the warrior cats, as well as the Balto OC's that were released as well. Those are not currently being redrawn for "conformity".

Personally, I would much rather put my time into keeping up with the pet demand than sweating to convert all of the horses.
No, I don't play CS anymore. Yes, I play on other sites. No, I will not sell my custom item or pet.

I think I'll get ahold of BHA on deviantART and see if I can get some way to message equimagine through her and ask her about this.

o: That's a good idea, actually. If equi's fine with it, then I think a lot of users will feel a little more accepting of the change (many are worried about equi's feelings)
Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Also as many others have said, it's NOT about items, it's NOT about who's lines are better, who "traced/referenced" or who's the better artist it's about having pets that are consistant. <_<
If you like the old lines (and the new) then vote no. If you want them to be updated say "yes" it's that simple. Honestly.

Yes. Guys how would you feel if people bashed your art like this? I believe it's time to move forward. Besides Tess says that the whole tracing/ ref etc. stuff was an accident and equi. didn't purposely do that.
It is a bit rude to hound someone over an accident.

They're not bashing. They're stating their opinions. They aren't saying "Wow, Yulynh's art is the crappiest thing I've ever seen! You call that art?!"

Yea, I kind of agree with Onew. ^^; They're stating why they don't want the old horses to be changed, which is what is wanted. It's better than not telling why you don't support the project. I mean calling someone's art "dead-looking" may not be the way to go, but you should still be allowed to state your opinion, just in a more sensitive way.

Ah, but they've stopped making the warrior cats, and all of those lines are legitimately by the artist who drew them.

i thought malk confirmed they weren't based on those characters? and even so, with designs like those of the dragons and warrior cats, they're extremely generic and even naturally occurring in the case of the cats. they're also by the original artists and not traced/referenced/etc. tracing and harmless designs that may have not been wise to go through with, yet have at least been dealt with are a bit different.
also i thought those dogs were just huskies of the artist's characters and they weren't strictly tied with balto??

and i agree that getting equimagine's approval about this whole thing is a good idea though i'm not sure how possible that would be.

So you wouldn't mind if I called one of your oekakies "dead looking"?

There are respectful ways to say you don't like a certain lineart set. Calling it "dead looking" is not one of them.

It is fine to state your opinions on the linearts here, but please guys... try to be considerate with your wording. It's very disrespectful to the artists that put in their hard time and effort to make something for everyone to enjoy for free, only to have it be called ugly.

I do not prefer it that way. I think the equimagines are unique, and special. They are one of my favorite linearts. Even if the transformation was to happen.. The unicorns should not be changed.

Ad for the whole tracing thing.. These linearts were not traced, chickensmoothie does not tolerate any kind of art theft, so why would they do it themselves? I don't even think it is possible to trace a lineart anyways.
