How does the demand of pets that, HONESTLY, already have next-to-no-demand go down by giving them a little revamp? I mean, I get that it's all relative and will differ for each person, but in general I don't see where the concern with demand comes in. Feel free to try to explain it to me, anyone. I'm truly confused.
I think some people like the old horse lineart better, or that some designs won't look as well on the newer pets making them not want them as much? Or because its not the original lines the design came with?
I honestly don't know either, I think Yulynh's lines will raise their demand actually, it would for me.

Demand can easily be because of lineart or design. If the lineart or design changes, demand goes down. While the design will be copied off of, it's very obvious Yulynh has a different(more realistic) style of drawing.

I would be CRUSHED if he was changed to the new pony lineart (Mind you, I dislike both line sets). I would personally be ticked because it ruins demand. Please don't Tess!

Edit; why is everyone saying her lines are copied?
I know! I completely agree with you sunny! I swear I will quit the pet part if CS if this happens! I honestly like the old pony lines much better than the new ones.

I am entirely for this - I feel that yulnyh's art is of a higher quality, and I would hate for the site to be shutdown because of the art theft

and I've been collecting all the horses since they came out - including the drafts ^^, so this will affect me pretty massively. And I like to dress up my horses, so having them all fit the same items just makes sense

besides, remember how the '09 husky had its art updated? It looks 10 times better now

Edit; read the front page if you want to see why everyone's saying she traced.

The PPS ponies DO have demand, and IMO, if they are changed, they will DROP in demand. Not as many people like the new PPS as the old ponies PPS.
Vincent Van Gogh. Everyone said to him, "You can't be a great painter, you only have one ear." And you know what he said? "I can't hear you."
Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

What is wrong with the old ones?
Equi's unicorns/donkeys might be unique or seperate but they're still traced. Tess and Malk's horses were not.

It's actually the call of the owner and she didn't need to ask us really, she could have just gone ahead and done it, but she's taking our thoughts and opinions into consideration. Whatever the outcome will be, whether we agree with it or not, we can be at peace knowing she took the time to consider how we felt about it -- that's why I always believe she knows what's best to do with the site, because over all the years that CS has had its 'changes', despite the momentary adjustment period we always eventually realize she has done what's best for the site.
/sounds like some sort of preacher omg XD
I agree completely XD. 100% ^^
I do think change is good. The old designs should be credited to the designer. This is just like updating the design.
^ This exactly
Also, adding to what I said earlier and after reading the quote about art theft, I'm changing my vote to a definite "yes." I just feel that it would simply not be appropriate for CS to continue using lineart that are copied from photographs without permission. It could cause quite a bit of trouble should the owner of the pictures decide to take action and it is not worth risking the entire website over something like that.

I don't know why people seem to think the new lines lack personality while the old ones have personality. The horses have this sort of proud and powerful stance about them. Pride and power are two things most people think of when they think "horse". Same with the new draft lineart.
As for the ponies, well, they have this trot that just seems to scream "look at me I'm a cute little pony!" To me, the old pony lineart is just has no personality. >.<

This tracing accusation really is a big issue. Chicken Smoothie does not tolerate art theft, so it rubs me a little wrong that something non-original is allowed to be such a big part of the site. I would like to hear from Equimagine herself, or at least have the issue put to rest, but I doubt that will happen.

Moggy wrote:I've been seeing people posting things like: Yulynh's linearts are "too flat", "too boring", "poor anatomy" and even "dead looking". Guys...STOP bashing the either artists lines. Both are great, both have their pro's and con's stop being so rude!
Also as many others have said, it's NOT about items, it's NOT about who's lines are better, who "traced/referenced" or who's the better artist it's about having pets that are consistant. <_<
If you like the old lines (and the new) then vote no. If you want them to be updated say "yes" it's that simple. Honestly.
Yes. Guys how would you feel if people bashed your art like this? I believe it's time to move forward. Besides Tess says that the whole tracing/ ref etc. stuff was an accident and equi. didn't purposely do that.
It is a bit rude to hound someone over an accident.
