This is something I didn't even take into consideration. Though I do also feel that those line arts all have a sort of black cloud of shame hanging over them just for their suspicious origins. And if it is a case of flat out art theft vs something original and created by the person submitting it as our new equine line arts are, I am for the change I suppose.

Though I will still miss those adorable little Dice and Buckskin PPS's. :|

No!!!!!!! Just no!!! I don't like the current lineart to begin with, my favorite pet is a old lineart horse. I would be CRUSHED if he was changed to the new pony lineart (Mind you, I dislike both line sets). I would personally be ticked because it ruins demand. Please don't Tess!

Edit; why is everyone saying her lines are copied?

Ugh so my RBM is going to end up looking pretty much like this just without the markings on the body?
Image
I don't know but that really really doesn't seem right. It would look wrong. A lot of the designs would just look wrong is transferred. I fine the Yulynh horses lack personality. Look at those little equimagine ponies peeking out from underneath their manes, they look so shy and adorable. People are saying that equimagine horses have low demand and this might increase their demand but since when do Yulynh horses have more demand?

☆ Looking for Seal PPS, have these to trade.

I'd love for this change to happen. It would help bring all of the linearts together for both and I LOVE the new draft look. I believe demand could rise too :3

I really dislike how everyone is saying that no one cared about equimagine horses before this started. That is completely untrue. Equimagine horses are one of my favorite linearts. But I do admit that the new draft lineart does look pretty spiffy.

Agreed, I've seen a couple of admins on other sites make giant changes with the site with no opinions from the users, I'm glad Tess chose to allow us to vote on it and share our opinions.

Because I think some of it has been traced or highly referenced off of.

Enyo. wrote:On another note, I believe this is being carried out wrong in general.
If there was a need/want for the older lineart design to be converted to the "newer" linearts, it should have been done back when the linearts were introduced-- not all this time afterward. Now it's going to cause even more of a stir than it would if it had been forced, not left up to an open-thread "debate."

Hindsight is 20/20 n_n A few years from now, someone's going to look back at this thread and say "Oh man, we should have done this instead of that"

--

Just realized one more thing that makes me a bit ambivalent about the change:
I likes several of equi's designs because of the color-to-color ratio. Take the first horse example (brown/white). There's a lot of brown on the shoulder before I see a little bit of white on the belly.
On yulynh's lineart, the shoulder area is smaller ratio-wise, so I don't see as much brown, and then I see more white. Pretty in its own way, but not the same.

Another example: the rainbow mane.
Image
That is a lot of white, and then there is a nearly-undisturbed rainbow for the mane and tail.
As much as I like Yulynh's lineart, the rainbow mane effect wouldn't be the same because there are faint black lines (for lack of better words) in the mane and tail (so that they look more like real hair), so there wouldn't be the same "nearly-undisturbed rainbow" effect in the mane or tail.
And since those are Yulynh's lines, it would be rather startling to have such a key feature (the faint black lines) suddenly removed o.O (at least, I'm always startled whenever a new lineart change pops up... but maybe that's just me? not sure)
Not to mention, of course, the fact that there's a lot a lot a lot a lot of white (since the body's so big). The white-to-rainbow ratio wouldn't be the same on yulynh's lines, and my eyes are going to have a hard time recognizing it xD

The art theft issue is making me lean towards "yes", but... D:

Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.

Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.

Honestly, and I hate to say it but I think the deciding factor for me would be to see the Rainbow Mane, Buckskin PPS, and Dice PPS on the new linearts. Just to see the comparison. These three are the only ones I'm really concerned about.
