I like the idea of updating the old lines, but I do like some of the old lines as they are, since in my opinion they show how the site has changed over time (also giving credit to the artist as well).

I admit, when I first saw this thread I immediately went "Nooooooo D:" xD Because while in most cases I'll take Yulyhn's linearts over Equimagine's, nothing can top the adorableness of Equi's PPS lines, and I really love her unicorns too.
But after thinking it over and reading a lot of the replies here, I voted "Yes". Of the 5 examples Tess posted, I find 4 of them to be a genuine improvement. I like those odds. And the new draft horse lines are beautiful! I'm a huge draft horse fan, but I was never that into Equimagine's drafts because they were a bit too cartoony for me. The new ones are so much more realistic and pretty... I could definitely see those becoming one of my favorite species on the site.
Plus, this would have the added benefit of making horse items accessible to all horses, and it would get rid of the art theft controversy, which are both positive things and good for the site.

Also, and I'm not trying to start an argument or offend anyone... but if Equimagine pets are as well-liked as people on this thread are saying, why are they so darn difficult to trade? I used to hoard them, but as time went on I grew tired of my hoard and kept one of each horse and pony but put all the extras in a doubles group that I will happily trade out of. There are 285 pets in that group, and a good half of those are the old, old Equimagine lines, but do you know how rare it is for me to actually trade a pet out of there? Nobody ever offers on them, and finding people who will actually trade me anything for them is incredibly difficult. And when I do find someone who will give me a rare dog or two for horses, I usually end up massively overpaying because the demand for them is so low. If I had an easy time trading them, I would probably vote "No", but I feel like a lot of people are voting "No" more for nostalgia then because they seriously love and collect Equimagine horses, and for that reason I'd rather see them revamped and possibly get a slight increase in demand.

A yes for me, even though I am a bit unsure. I like the old horse lineart, maybe even more than the current one. Also a bit worried about some favorites and PPS:es, but overall I think it's a good change. I'd love to see a new version of drafts, ponies and unicorns. I'm also happy that you really seem to care about the site and that it's not always stuck in the same old thing. :3

Anyways, I think it'd be great if they were all switched over to the new linearts! I never really liked the old lines.

I love the draft and I wouldn't mind the horse change much.
However, I don't like the pony transformation.
The old pony lines are one of my favorite linearts on this site and I'd truly hate to see them go..
I personally feel the older pony designs look better on the original lines and should not be transferred to the newer lines
I'm really not that big of a fan of the newer lines to be honest
It just wouldn't look right and, like mentioned, I'd be upset to see these lines be gone forever.

It's an incredible idea! I love the example transformations, and the draft horse is really amazing! I'm a bit torn, though, so I'm unsure of what to vote on the poll as of now. I really liked the 2010 Equimagine linearts, and the 2009 ponies were pretty nice. It's only the 2009 horses and the drafts that I do not care for. Both would look much better on Yulynh's lineart, but it's a very drastic change and a very large project. Perhaps having so many different horse linearts is part of the charm of having an older pet to some of the oldest and newest members especially, you see? I've hoarded Equimagine's 2010 lineart natural designs for a while now. c: As Princess Luna did, I also found 4/5 of them to be great improvements. (It'll take a while for me to get over the old 2010 Equi pony lines </3 D: I like Yulynh's horse lines much better, but I do prefer Equi's ponies substantially.)

I think it's a very interesting proposal, and I'm neither fully nay nor yay on this idea yet. It'd definitely compel me to expand my hoard of horses to every horse ever made :'D I must admit that Yulynh is one of if not my very favorite artist on Chicken Smoothie. ^^ If it does happen, I think I'd be happy. Change is good. It'll be better for the site.

I suppose that I'd be happy with either decision. Best of luck deciding!
