I feel like the detail on the examples is amazing and I would love to see more of our horses like that. It would also help tremendously with my pony hoard by being able to hoard them all instead of just the new ones. The new draft lines are gorgeous as well and I'd love to start seeing them around. However, I am a little caught up with a few of them. Some of them I hoard just because of the way they look now, and I'm not positive if I would like them on the new lines.

I really, really like the idea about being able to choose. If there was simply an option, sort of like the one where you can change if the rarities show up in your groups so that you view the old lines if preferred... I feel like that might become complicated however. For example in the "Fun Ways to Use Items" thread, I feel like this version-changing might not work. Would people view the pets as the version they have, or as the other version? This might mess up how people view the items on the pets. If one person sees a new lineart pony with new lineart pony items, then would the people viewing the old version see the old version of that pony with random items all around? Sorry to use such a weird example.

Yes, if we implemented a "click to change type" button, it would look really odd if you saw someone else's pony which had been dressed up in a different display setting to the one you're using. This is one reason why we'd prefer not to implement something like that, it gets confusing when 2 people view the same pet and see something different.

On the other hand if changing the pet display changed the view for EVERYONE you'd have other problems, with it appearing that there were 2 completely separate pets existing on the site since you could put them side by side and have each one displaying a different version. We would not offer that, since it could be confusing in trading, having 1 outcome appearing as 2 different pets.

Well.... Wouldn't it be just the same design in different linearts? o3o

Yes, but in this scenario they would both technically be the same outcome, just with different display settings. You might already own one and be tricked into trading for a second one if you didn't know you could do that.

I'd prefer if CS didn't change the lines. Equimagine is retired, right? If she is, then..it would just take the reminder of her away. The reasons you've given us are good, but just because the items don't fit? I'm really not trying to be rude. It's just that, I love Equimagine's lines too. It gives CS more variety.

[P.S what would the PPS ponies look like?]

Now, instead of being unique, they'll look like all of the rest of the horses. I do like the new draft horse lines, though I am still quite fond of the old ones. I just wanted to say that even though the official value of these horses and ponies will stay the same, value will go down in my eyes and maybe in some other user's eyes too. :)

^^^^^ You, my friend, make some excellent points.

I like them the way they are. I always have. Changing them would, as DangerousSmile said, take all of their "specialness" away. I also feel it would be sort of a diss to Equimagine for their work all those years ago to just be wiped away.

Yeah, the items don't really fit on them all that well, but that is not something that concerns me as much as losing the actual linearts does. They're history now, important history that I never want to see fade away, especially simply because "the items don't fit." They're special, they're important, they mean something. At least, they do to me.

As someone who owns old lineart horses, draft horses and ponies, and as someone who adopted them herself and watched them grow, it would pretty much devastate me to see them changed. They wouldn't be the same. It would be as though they were taken away from me and replaced with poor imitators, someone cruelly telling me, "They're exactly the same, but better."

They wouldn't be the same. I would hate to lose a single one of my precious equines. I own every single draft horse, every single Equi horse but ONE, and am missing merely four ponies. I love them all. Changing them would be a nightmare for me.

I couldn't have said it better. I agree with every word of this.

You can't take away the old linearts.

Honestly, CS is the one website that I'm on that's never made a change that I didn't like. That's one of the reasons why I love it so much. Please, please, please don't make this change!

@Tess : ... Oh yeah and that. Maybe there could be a notice or a window or something along those lines beside the pet? I mean, maybe it just kinda warns you the horse is the same as the other. :3

Well, at first I was against, but then I saw the examples... they really do look better in Yulynh lineart! The drafts are just precious, maybe if these changes will come to life we'll get some new drafts to celebrate that? ;)

Also I'd love the fact that there would be no more problems with horse/pony items - right now some fit one lineart, others other lineart and it's a big mess. I'm definitely supporting the idea!
After years of commitment to the site I was treated like a dirt, falsely accused and judged by almost everyone with no chance to explain. I do not see the point to stay here anymore, so it's a farewell!

As explained, part of the reason is that we feel it is weird to have so many different lines on one site. We'd prefer that most of the horses and ponies looked the same.

Some users prefer the novelty of having different kinds of lines on the site, but we think the old lines don't really fit with the CS art style and look strange mixed in our pet groups with the new versions.

What about just changing the settings for your one account instead of everyone's?
This may work,because in viewing a trade,your setting's in Equimagine let's say.
Then you would view the other player's horse as an Equimagine lineart because you have toggled on that setting,so both would be Equimagine as oppose to one Yulynh and the other Equimagine,it would be both as one lineart because you have toggled on that one setting.
Same applies if you toggle on the other setting.
Would that work?

I have no idea what this would do to the items one has dressed a pet in, though. It would look weird, maybe it wouldn't even be possible.
I was hacked. Not going to remake all my groups and such unless I feel like it. That's a lotta work. Don't bother with trades, everything's a mess.

It's hard to imagine the rainbow drafts or those easter draft horses with the bunny ears looking good in those lines. They work for the more natural designs but I don't know they would just look... Wrong for the others.

I hope this convinces you otherwise. ;)
