Neru is what you call a Vocaloid derivative. She is not an official Vocaloid, but has been given official recognition. She is based a little off of Miku.

Ahh and it's an exciting time to join the Vocaloid fandom lately. XD So many Vocaloids are under development. One in fact, will be released in May.
