Damon smiled and nodded," that sounds wonderful, but why? You barely know me.." he said curiously.

"You bothered to talk to me, it's the least I can do in return." Charlie smiles.

Damon smiled and nodded contently. " well thank you... It means a lot to know that someone cares." He said softly as he looked with a please gaze towards the attractive boy. Damon bit his lip as he took a deep breath and rolled up his hoddie sleeves. Revealing countless cuts and scars. " if you don't mind me asking, why do you have that bruise?"

"My father did it, he does most of this damage. Most times I don't make it to school on time because of it." Charlie says, "I'll do better here, away from him."

Damon nodded in mutual understandance. "My fauther hates me because I can't read. He says I'm a mistake. That I should have never been born. He too does damage. Except its my back, shoulders, ribs , and thighs. Where no one can see. I-I do my wrists and cheeks.." He admitted guiltily looking back down at the ground.

Charlie nods, "I get it, my dad makes it obvious while I try to hide it. Though I doubt your father comes after you with a brocken beer bottle. That's what most of the stitches are from."

Damon shook his head," No... He doesnt. He kicks me into walls...beats me with a belt.. ties me up so I'm powerless. Never a sharp object though.." He murmured softly feeling empathy for the poor boy.

Charlie nods and looks at the scars on his arms. He tended to show them off so the snobby kids who didn't know him would stay as far away as they could. Even jocks stayed away from him. he'd been alright with that, until he wanted something else from his life other than being left alone. "My dad almost always has something sharp in hand. It's what I get if Im not fast enough."

Damon looked over at Charlie as he said," I promise I'm not going to hurt you, and I'm sorry for everything you had to go through even though it wasn't my fault. I bet you have quick reflexes though?".

"Not really, if I move too quickly I could end up opening stitches or something. Sometimes I'm not even looking at him when he starts it." Charlie sets his tray aside, no longer hungry. He hated his past.
